Loving some parts of this show. Lauren out sang Carrie Underwood at Carrie's own song. Steven Tyler sang Dream On (put me right back in high school)... fun stuff Lady Gaga, Beyonce... more fun stuff

I don't even care who wins.

I was so naive in high school that I didn't know those roach clips like Steven Tyler wears in his hair were roach clips I bought some and my mom freaked. Now I have to wonder, how did my MOM know they were roach clips???

In my sophomore year of college, when I joined AST, my big gave me a picture holder which had our letters on a block on the bottom, and looked similar to this:




I was moving back home that summer, she saw it and said, "Reminds me of a roach clip.." I asked, "Of what?..." She said, "You don't know what that is?!"

And then she explained it to me.

Apparently my mom had more fun than I did in college. LOL

I LOVE Casey. I think he's amazing.

BUT...... last night after the show, one of the previews for the news said something about, "Chris Medina might not be done..." I figured maybe they were going to have a 25th contestant or something crazy like that...

So then this morning I went online to figure out what that was all about, and I found THIS!:

Pia I also enjoyed, although I felt she was straining a little. She is kind of blah for me as a person when she's onstage - I thought she was way more interesting with her glasses in her package interview before she sang. It's like she's trying to be this classy, quiet, power belter, and she's sacrificing anything interesting in her personality to get there.

I did feel like Pia was trying a bit too hard.. and so was that girl who sang Selena. Both performances seemed a bit.. awkward to me. And while I love Thia’s voice, as well, I think she needs to add something to her singing. If she doesn’t, she’ll quickly be forgotten and will be booted.

Naima ... the vocals were NOT there ... but she seemed like the only one who was trying to put on a performance outside of the vocals, which I can appreciate. I think when she went into the reggae the song got much better. Umbrella is just NOT a singer's song, and is never going to highlight vocals in any way. She needs to pick better songs or she's gone.

Let's face it.. America didn't pick Ashton or Naima.. the judges did. I don't think either of them will last long. The judges chose for both of them to stay for all the wrong reasons, in my opinion.

Casey ... I really like him, but I hope he can tone down the "really angry" sing he has going on. He always looks so mad, and it takes away from my enjoyment of the song when he looks like he's about to jump through my TV and hurt me.

I agree. I think it would have been ok one week.. but he's done this twice. I miss hearing the various sounds of his voice.. he needs to go back to that.

Jacob is a lot like James for me - great voice, but he does NOT know how to restrain himself, and it gets really tiresome really fast. I hope he can learn to control his voice more too, because I do like him.

This was not my favorite performance by him. I don't think it was terrible, but he should have chosen a different song. And yes, he does need to tone it down a bit.

I missed Scotty's performance ... which is fine since I don't like country. I think he has a good voice, but my dislike of country prevents me from being able to really judge his singing.

He has a good voice, but every song he sings sounds EXACTLY THE SAME. Bored. ::yawn::

And I'm getting pissed with the judging. For the most part it's all "I can't judge you, you were that good!" Bitch, you are getting paid to judge them - DO IT.

Yes! On both accounts.

Steven is still way too nice, though, and he doesn't give enough constructive criticism. But at least it's not all of them saying, "You're the best!" to every contestant.

Why, Casey.. why?! Kurt Cobain was definitely intense while singing that song, but in a controlled way. Casey seems to be insane when he's up there singing. I'm really surprised that none of the judges have commented on his transformation from bass playing Casey to so-over-the-top-I-like-to-yell-and-scream-in-every-song-I-sing Casey.

Overall, I don't think any of the performances from last night really stood out to me.

Agreed... the girls don't really bring much to the table in terms of standing out. Lauren is another one who has a great voice, but she seems too... I don't even know the word. Immature? Her whole, "I didn't deal with criticism very well" speech before her performance this week wasn't something I would want put on national tv. Suck it up. This is what comes with being a performer... especially one who is competing in front of all of America to try and earn their votes.

Thia is definitely too young. I think she has the potential to be amazing a few years from now.
