Go Bucks! Beat Michigan!

Today's game against Iowa was a nail-biter. Have to compliment Iowa on their play-their freshman replacement QB did a great job when most predicted OSU would pound them. I was yelling at the tv so much that I upset the dog. He thought I was yelling at him.

Hahahahahahaha I love when USC loses!
I was sooo happy when USC lost. I hate the fact that they are expected to win every year and I love, love, love when they lose.

On an alternate note, Michigan fans are just cruel! With every other Big Ten school, once the game ends, the bickering ends. That was just NOT the case yesterday.

My family is hoping that USC will win enough to be 3rd place in the Pac-10, cause if they do then they'll be heading to the Sun Bowl (they are big USC fans).

We might even have a USC vs Notre Dame game....supposedly that might be pretty intense. I just kinda like lol

There have been tons of Boise students/fans invade TCU blogs, websites, fan sites, etc with lots of smack and trash talk. Some of the posts say that they should receive the automatic BCS bid- and not us- because they beat OU a few years ago.

Um, Einsteins, WE beat YOU last year.

The best part of these blogs/sites/etc is that all the Utah and BYU fans have been posting too. Only, they have been 100% supportive of us. They say things like "Well, I am a Ute fan, but I recognize that TCU is really good this year. I hope that Utah wins this weekend, but if they don't then we really hope that you run the table! We will be cheering for you in whatever bowl that you get." There are dozens and dozens of posts like that, and not a single one with smack talk. Mormons. Nice people.

So, go Vandals! You will have tons of fans in Fort Worth this weekend.

(oh, and geez, it is really quiet in here these days. Seems like you and I are the only ones around these parts anymore! )
What is so funny is that they come on to other WAC boards and trash talk, but their fan board you have to register for and they ban people left and right. My favorite pic is one about Bandwagon fans and has all kinds of ugly crap, and the caption is about spending more money on gear than tuition. I also refer to their school colors as blorange.

The Ada County Sherrif (where Boise is located) posts mug shots of arrests online and there were so many people in blorange for their mug shots last weekend. My favorite was a forty year old guy with spiky douchey hair, a douchey goatee and it was tinted and painted blorange, as well as around his eyes. We might have lost the game, but at least we aren't BSU.

ETA: No proof these are BSU affiliated people, but there are posters who have said "go fall out a window" to Vandals and considering we had that happen and both of those students are likely to suffer paralysis or other things like neurological damage to never being fully functional again I find that to be poor taste. As well as the people who mocked our NFL potential Big Mike Iupati for being an ESL student and having struggles coming from American Samoa in regards to language and not having the same grades entering college as others. The Boise Statesman did an article on him and the comments were horrible. Sure some people rip on Kellen Moore's "Donkey" like teeth or that an Oregon player punched one of their players, but mocking serious injury of young people and someone who learned a whole second language is beyond a football rivalry (there is NO academic rivalry in my opinion ).

So, I ordered my Fiesta tickets and travel package last night. On the one hand I am so excited that my little TCU has a chance to play in a BCS bowl game. On the other, it is soooooooo disapointing that we have to play Boise. Again. (we played- and beat- them last year in the Poinsettia Bowl).

I am not one of these homers that is going to come on here and talk smack that TCU should be playing in the championship game. Honestly, I don't know how they would stack up against Bama, Florida, Texas, Ohio State, etc. However, it is SO maddening that the Powers That Be won't even give us the chance to play a BCS conference team in the bowl to find out. Schools like TCU and Boise get knocked because "they don't play anyone." HOwever, it is not like they aren't trying, but those traditional powerhouse schools *won't* schedule teams like us. This was our opportunity to see how we compare to top teams from strong BCS conferences and we were denied.

Whether TCU or Boise wins the Fiesta Game is irrevelent, as the response will continue to be that "yeah but you just beat another Mid-Major." It is like we were relegated to the kiddie table at Thanksgiving while everyone else is feasting at the grown-up table.

I will go to the game, and I will cheer very loudly for my Frogs, and I will certainly have fun. Even getting to play in a game like this is a dream. Hell, we were stoked to get to go to the Weedeater Bowl in Shreveport my senior year, as our team had been SO bad for SO long. It is just a shame that the opportunity to play in such a big game carries so little meaning. All the team wanted was a chance to show they belonged at that ranking, and a chance to *earn* some national respect. It won't happen playing another non-BCS conference team.

NOthing can be done at this point, so I just wish my team luck and hope that they get over their let-down and enjoy themselves (and play well) in Arizona. Go Frogs!

**On another note, congrats to srmom and her SMU Mustangs who are going to their first bowl game in 25 years! Sorry that you didn't get your Florida-Texas match-up, but SMU's team this year has to have alumni excited again.

I'm with you. I think the match-ups are totally unfair (but that's the BCS for you). It would have been much more interesting to see TCU play Texas and Boise, Alabama (or vice versa) and let the "little schools" have a chance to prove themselves.

Oh, and congrats on yourn win. We were eating dinner so I just now saw the end.

Hopefully we can have the same outcome without as much white-knuckling. Here's to TCU 60, Boise 3.

BSU is bringing all kinds of dip shit to the chip bowl.

Know what Vandal alumni and BSU fans have in common?

Neither attended BSU.

Well, thanks for the warning. I am actually lucky enough to get to go to the bowl game, so this will be my first encounter with the bluorange people. Sounds like they will be annoying as hell.

I think they are more annoying online than in person. I am really NOT forgiving for the comments and signs along the lines of "If I was a Vandal I'd jump out of a window too" as we had two students with critical injuries due to window falls earlier in the semester, and a suicide (I knew that student from class). That is just tacky and really uncalled for.

It is worse when we have a game in Moscow because traveling here is easier than for a bowl game. Of course they are still talking about the last Fiesta Bowl win as if it was this morning, so having them lose in light of a Vandal win would be extremely pleasing.

ETA: People need to cease and desist in calling us Vandys Vandies or any thing close to it, as we are not Vanderbilt we are Idaho Vandals, at The University of Idaho, a land grant university, founded in 1889 before statehood in 1890, thankyouverymuch.
