I think it's so cool that J&K got to renew their vows where they originally wanted to get married.
I like how she showed the kids the wedding video and talked about how this is something that they want to do with the kids so they can see that Mom and Dad love each other.
Sidenote: the kids are getting so big! Hearing Hannah asking questions and stuff while they were watching the video made me think "wow they're growing up so fast, back when the show started, the little kids needed subtitles."

They showed the first half of Maui last Monday and next Monday's the vow renewal. I liked how TLC's getting ready for it...they must have gotten their inspiration from Cialis commercials.
We'll get to see some of Jon's family -- which is cool, considering how their family is rarely seen on TV.
The girls looked absolutely lovely with their flowers in their hair. Makes me want to book a room at the Wailea for the weekend!

I am really looking forward to the vow renewal. My daughter and I are hooked on this show, and I agree with KSUViolet, I can't believe how the kids are growing! They are so precious.
Does anyone know the situation with Kate's parents? They are never mentioned, never seen, etc. She mentions her brother, but no one else. I am somewhat of a latecomer, though, so maybe I missed something.
Okay, and another quick comment. I was really glad to see that they did not allow Maddie to participate in the cookie baking activity since she was misbehaving. I can empathize with Maddie's frustrations, but I am glad they have taken their response to her tantrums to another level - removing her rather than tolerating her.

I watch the show frequently and adore the family but I am very troubled by two things. First, I believe Jon and Kate are in denial about Mady. They consider her to be high-strung and dramatic. I can see that she has bi-polar tendencies. She needs to be evaluated and possibly started in therapy and on medication immediately. I watched the other day while she repeatedly kicked her little sister for coming into her room. I also watched her standing at the railing upstairs and had visions of her tossing over one of the "littles" when she is in one of her moods. She actually frightens me. Please, Gosselin's, get her into therapy before someone gets seriously hurt or before she deteriorates to the point where she cannot be helped as easily as she can now.
The other issue I would like to see addressed is the making of a montage of Kate (from all four seasons) interacting with Jon and the kids so she can sit down and watch how she relates to them. Kate is not only obsessive-compulsive but seriously bi-polar, like Mady. Both need immediate evaluation, therapy and medication. Kate doesn't seem to realize how her behavior towards Jon is affecting her kids and the choices they will make as adults.
Jon is a gem but he needs to develop a backbone, get his wife and child into therapy and refuse to be belittled and abused on national television. He is a good husband and father...many women would kill for a husband like him. He does so much for Kate and around the house and never receives his due. I am giving it to him now. Good work, Jon. Help your family.

Wow! Really, a psych. eval. of ppl based on edited clips of a portion of their lives? Wow! If you were having "visions of her tossing one of the littles" maybe you need the eval and meds. Its carefully edited to give the perception that TLC wants us to see and sure, if that means the most entertaining bits are the ones where the self titled perfectionest and OCD mom yells at her hubby or her kids have a "meltdown" then that's what they play up.. It's still, loosely scripted, TV...

Loved the vow renewal last night - especially when Jon said," I promise to ask, 'What can I do to help honey?' " in times of stress. Too funny since she is often complained of this on the show. The kids were precious and I loved the pedicures, etc. A really nice episode, if I do say so myself!
Again, I am really curious about the situation with her family. Blurred out in the wedding videos? Random. I think Dr Phil could get to the bottom of this.

The production team would have to get permission from everyone that attended the first wedding, to show faces. It is just easier to blur out faces so that they don't have to get into all the legality. It has nothing to do with whether their family is estranged or not.

Turns out I have an ancestor with the same last name as Jon (and everyone else). Random.

I can understand the difficulty of getting random wedding guests' permission, but the mother of the bride and father of the bride are blurred in those videos. I can't imagine it is too hard to get permission from the immediate family unless they didn't want to cooperate.
I just hate for anyone to be estranged from immediate family. It makes me sad.

Seeing all of the girls at the spa getting their little pedicures was the cutest thing EVER.
I thought their cake was BEAUTIFUL (and I loved the flowers).
I also thought it was neat to see Jon's family there.

Well, Kate has already said that her relationship with her parents is difficult & it seems as though they are pretty much estranged at the moment. I doubt that either party (Jon/Kate/production or Kate's parents) wanted them shown on TV.

Did anyone else feel that some of Jon's family were just invited so there were guests at the wedding? Not to sound too cynical but some of them were obviously close family that he knew but others it seemed pretty distant and even Jon had a hard time recounting who they were. I know they've pushed alot of people out of their lives so it just got me wondering...

I think Kate was being a little bit of a "Yard Salezilla" on tonight's episode, especially when she kept saying "They misspelled proceeds!"
I thought it was cool that they let people name their own prices for the stuff, and that the $$ went to cancer research.
