Whats a southern type? Well, the south, like the north, obviously varies. The southern fraternity type would generally be well dressed, well groomed, from wealthy conservative families, and well mannered.

The Jersey type that I refer to, are generally the big jersey guys who love the shore, get in fights, and cuss every other word. They like to wear vertically striped shirts unbuttoned halfway down, and gel their hair before going to the club. I refer to them as "jersey" because they are often the ones who proclaim the greatness of NJ the most, and thus have become identified with the state and especially the shore.

I *HEART* Whole Foods too. What I *DON'T* like about the Whole Foods near me is the lack of veggies in the self-serve prepared foods section. I know that it varies from store to store though.

Anyway, everyone knows where coke is bottled. Where is pepsi bottled? How mysterious.

WOWZA - Such a sweeping generalization! I could then say... No, I won't. I'll say that the type you've described, in my experience also found in Rhode Island, Maryland, MA, PA, NY and FL, too, are a minority (though I also find them irritating). I thought it had more to do with testosterone and youth than their state of residence.

I'm pretty sure that's just a bottling partnership...

Well, I bought my current car from a Hendrick's dealer...so according to your logic, I should have a rag on my head right now.

Kroger used to be bigger - well, they used to be here until all the union brouhaha and they left. There aren't any in PA any more, as far as I know.

Sad to say, the most popular grocery store these days is probably (gag) Walmart.

Alpha, better work on that.

I think KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut are owned by Yum Brands, I have a couple friends who work at their HQ.

Correct. From the Yum Brands website:

"Yum! Brands, Inc., based in Louisville, Ky., is the world's largest restaurant company in terms of system restaurants with over 34,000 restaurants in over 100 countries. Four of our restaurant brands - KFC, Long John Silver's, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell - are the global leaders of the chicken, quick-service seafood, pizza and Mexican-style food categories. A&W Restaurants is the longest running quick-service franchise chain in America. "

They used to be owned by Pepsi. Yum either bought them out or formed to be just the restaurants.

Don't get me started on the Kentucky Taco Huts and the Long John A & W's. Anyone who eats breadsticks, a drumstick and a taco in the same meal has problems.

It always cracks me up when they call fast food "quick service" to somehow try & make it more respectable. Please, get over yourselves.

Sounds like a postive hCG type problem to me...

Pepsi was created in the late 1890s in North Carolina.

PepsiCo, which owns FritoLay, Aquafina, Gatorade, Pepsi, and Quaker Oats, is located mostly in Purchase, NY. Quaker Oats is located in Chicago, IL.

Personally, I refer to yankees as anyone from Maryland to New England, and over parts of the midwest up to minnesota. I usually don't call people from the west coast yankees.
But California was a Union state, so perhaps some people call Californians "yankees" on that basis? (I've never heard it, but maybe?)

As for the Brits, I usually hear them say "yanks" rather than "yankees." I don't mind being called a "yank," but "yankee" is a whole 'nother story.
