I just don't get how Vincent wasn't auf-ed last night.
Not that I liked Angela's horrible linen monstrosity (who travels in linen anyway?) but Vincent designed something that you can get at the Gap for 40 bucks.
And what was Kayne thinking?? I really did automatically think either Elvis or gay janitor when I saw his outfit. He needs to listen when Tim Gunn says something and ratchet it back.

My vote for final two is Michael and Uli, with Michael winning it all!

It was interesting to see their different interpretations of an international jet setter, but what was angela thinking?

Angela wasn't thinking. She was showing her country bamma self. I mean, no jetsetter does ROSETTES. Clawd.
My favorites were Laura and Michael. Uli stumbled a bit. If the dress had been knee-length, it would have worked.
Jeffrey is such a d*****. But I think he's being kept on for drama.
Kayne did crack me up. As an aside, I've seen -- but do not own -- AKA rhinestone buckle belts.

Those thinestone belt buckles were EVERYWHERE a year or two ago. I thought they were ugly then, and now think they are ugly and PLAYED.

yes, I actually liked vincent's dress. the sleeves should've just been capped tighter. I thought michael would've been auf'd, actually. I LOVED kayne's and laura's dresses. I thought the judges were too critical, and excuse me, I don't have a couture "eye" I guess, but jeffrey's dress was audacious, and I don't mean that in a complimentary way. uli's dress was pretty, maybe too much cording?

I was thinking the whole time that Michael was in danger.
I didn't like Laura's dress, AT ALL.
I thought Uli was going to win, her dress was cuter, but Jeffrey was more "daring", which I guess is why he won.

I'm sad to see him go not because he made weird azz clothing but because he really took a HUGE risk in being on this show by cashing in his 401K.

But those are the kinds of risks you take when you're passionate about something.
Laura's dress looked like something Linda Evans wore on Dynasty.
I was really glad that Michael was not auf'd. I think if he had more time he would have been able to "make it work".
I didn't really care for Jeffrey's dress but Tim said at the beginning of the challenge that Couture is about taking risks and that's what he did. I was also suprised that you had to get "certified" by the French Government to be considered a couture designer.
I think the final 3 will be Michael, Jeffrey, and Uli.

Laura's dress was painfully 80's- I have heard it described as 80's YSL, and elegant mime. Both seem correct.
Michael's dress was hideous too- my favorites were having an off week. IT was nicer when the boob-plates got folded down, but still mostly a disaster. At least he knew it, even if he couldn't somehow sew his way out of the ugly.
I'd have to say that the most haute couture-like dress to MY untrained eye was definitely Jeffrey's. The color, the cut, all seemed very avant garde and couture-like. I don't think anyone would ever really wear it, but that's not the point. As per Tim Gunn, about 10 women in the world actually wear couture gowns.
Uli's was the prettiest by far, but it didn't seem like couture to me- just another pretty halter-style dress like she always does, but this one for the evening. I think that if she'd done this one for Miss USA she would have won that challenge though.
I also have to say that I LOVED Kayne's dress. It must have come across differently on tv than in real life, because I thought that the top and skirt were just tremendously beautiful, if not cut experimentally enough to be couture-like. I could see that walking down any red carpet to be honest with you. I guess I have to question my taste level now!
Vincent's was ugly, there was nothing hand-sewn about it and it looked like Chloe's collection last year. His auf-ing was highly deserved, and has been deserved for a while now. Good riddance!

Of course, I'm going to have to defend my Laura. With modifications, it's the type of evening dress that a woman of a certain age would rock. Soror MamaTrap constantly complains about the lack of sleeves on evening wear. But it didn't seem super-challenging.
Uli's one-noteness didn't hurt her on this one. I loved the fabric, the color and the cording.
Kayne redeemed himself but I do have a feeling he may be out soon.
Jeffrey -- OK. He can design and maybe he's being less of a c**k now that his irritants are gone.
Michael could have done better with more time. I liked the color and fabric.
Vincent needed to go. When they say "sew," you don't glue.

I must admit, I am also sad to see Vincent go. I just KNEW it was going to be Jeff with that awful yellow dress (but won the competition!) I loved Kayne's dress (I like his style; but he is so easily discouraged) I was secretly hoping Laura went home. It seems as if she uses the same designs over and over. Next week, she should be making her exit.

I just laughed so loud in my office!!! My BF and I said this verbatum!!! Poor Laura

I'm and the PRESIDENT of Team Michael so, though I didn't like the dress much I know that if it had been his area of expertise he would have won easily!

I agree re: Laura. Though I think her designs are always "chic" they are also very boring. Donna Karan has already made a living and name for herself along these lines, we don't need another one!
