Here in Greenville, SC, average break-down:
Low-grade = $2.19/gal.
Mid-grade = $2.29/gal. (which is what I put in my car)
High-test = $2.39/gal.

$20 bought less than 9 gallons of gas tonight. I think the price was about $2.30 a gallon.

Top 5 Signs gas is too expensive.
from www.mysa.com
People slipping under your car at the gas station to catch any spilled drops from the pump.
Bank loan officers set up shop at the gas station.
Signs at the pump read: "If you have to ask, you can't afford it."
Gas pumps are reset to sell by the ounce, not the gallon.
Even the cab drivers take their customers to Park & Ride.

I paid $2.18/g in Orlando.
It is $2.27/g in South Florida.
Just thinking about how I have to rent a moving truck and drive from Orlando to Atlanta and pay all that money in gas makes me sad!

i knew it, this was all a scam to convine and pressure legislators to approve the alaskan oil drilling bill. Oh well, so much for the refuge, at least we'll get better prices on gas (in about 6 months)...

Gas prices down slightly at the local el cheapo station. Was $2.49... now $2.45.
I start commuting a half an hour to work next week on the freeway. I'll be filling up every week. I'll be using my Safeway discount for sure if I can.

I still haven't paid over $2 a gallon yet... Though the drive out to the boonies for gas is almost not worth it now.
Query: Is it legal to buy lots of those plastic emergency gas cans and use it to transport/store gasoline for my own personal use?
I'm theorizing yes, and if it isn't illegal, it's probably not very safe.

I wouldn't think it's illegal. People do it all the time for lawn mowers. Also, during the hurricanes in Florida, people were filling up 10 of those at a time so they could use it for their generators.

Prices here are getting absolutely ridiculous. I paid $2.61 for gas today. I will not be surprised to see it go over $3/gallon by Labor Day. It already is $2.99/gallon at a few stations in the city!
