as for my alma mater (baylor): Someone's gotta be at the bottom of the football totem pole. We'll just go on winning cool stuff like the national championship in tennis.

watch it,
coach Fran and the Aggies are trying their damnest to take that position away from you. Our game this year will once again be to see who can crawl out of the Big XII cellar.

Not as good as past years. They are still ranked but had their first regular season loss in 4 years not to long ago.

Haha...purely quoting because I'm a UConn fan. Too funny.
I used to think that the only way UConn would win any games in its first few years was on a video game.

You've got a hell of a coach over there. Look what he did with SEC cellar dweller Kentucky. In a frew more years, they may have been a legitimate contender for the SEC.

What are folks in College Station saying about Fran? An overrated coach? I hope that he stays so they don't do what's best for A&M and raid Stoops' staff again
(It seems that's the en vogue thing to do in the Big XII when hiring coaches).

Weren't they talking about making the jump to IAA pretty recently?
I've been very impressed with UCO. Watched them play Abiline Christian the other day (after coming from the OU game, got some nice sunburn). UCO was EXCELLENT on defense -- or at least the first stringers were. Until the 4th quarter, I believe we were at around 49-10. We put our backups in and the score went to 49-24. Still an excellent game. We have an excellent running game and an excellent passing game.
My favorite play was a fake punt in the first quarter where our punter just tucked the ball and ran. He ran 61 yards for a touchdown and looked like a WR or RB doing it. He was juking and making great cuts, etc. He got away from a LOT of tacklers. I was very impressed. People will have to watch out for that play.
Our new coach has been excellent -- Chuck Langston. In his first year, he took what the year before had been an underachieving team with a consistant losing record and took us 2-deep in the playoffs. This year I figure to go even deeper. I'll wait to see how UCO does against Tarleton State next week before making any championship predictions though.

I'm sorry that you can't share in this.
Does it bother you?

Yea I've heard he's an awesome coach. Hopefully we'll do something exciting this year. Not too promising after that butt whooping we took from UAB.

I don't know, you talk to enough sports fans and you'll find a whole bunch of armchair quarterbacks, third base coaches, etc. Sports is one of those things where everyone has an opinion, and the average person feels they could have made a better decision.
It just seems to be a part of any sports discussion.

MAYBE, if they had Reveille at QB and the subbed the yell leaders in for the O-Line. Even then, it might be close. My goodfriend AggieSigmaNu always likes to remind me that TAMU handed Baylor the butt whooping of a lifetime with one of the worst A&M teams ever. I would like to, before I die, see Baylor beat a good Big XII team. No offense to Kansas and the other red headed step children of the conference football teams. Oh yea, that was 3 years ago.
