Well I, for one, can say that I am thrilled recruitment is over! That was so long.
I hope all of the chapter members and PNMs are happy, well rested and excited for bid day tomorrow!

So what's the schedule from here? When do they have to have their lists in? And when do the girls find out tomorrow?

That sounds a little like the reaction my daughter had after preferencing at one of her legacy chapters. She decided to rank the group she'd liked best all week #1 and her legacy group #2. But she was surprisingly torn because A) she knew if she ranked her legacy group #1 she would get her first choice (even if they weren't her first choice in her heart) and there was something comforting in that after the stress of the week and B) the girl she spent the majority of the pref party with at her legacy chapter made it very clear the choice to join them was now my daughter's. In fact, she spent a good deal of time talking about how much she'd like to be my daughter's big, etc.
My daughter isn't a fan of conflict and ranking her legacy house #2 after preference felt to her like she was rejecting them and inviting conflict. In the end, she decided to go with her heart. But, we talked about the fact that she liked her legacy house and that getting a bid from them instead of her top choice would be the universe's way of guiding her to the "right" place.
I do think my daughter felt more "wanted" by her legacy chapter -- but I don't think that was necessarily the case. My gut tells me that the non-legacy chapters were just as genuinely interested in her, they simply couldn't be as direct about their feelings.
I hope your daughter ends up where her heart led her!

Good luck everyone! And I'm hoping someone out there takes a video of the riverfront and the reveal. Just saying, I'd love to be a fly on the wall.
On another note...will the success of this rush spur on expansion talks? I can't imagine that there will be a large disparity in house size after this recruitment.

I think they take a wait and see approach. Housing is at a premium in Iowa City and AEPhi is still unhoused, correct? I think as with Iowa State, the interest for growth is there but the physical structures just aren't available. Perhaps with another year or two of continued success expansion will be considered.

Yes, and considering the disparity in their recruitment history I'd guess that bringing in a new chapter who wouldn't have a house would not be successful venture.

I'm hearing rumors from an unreliable source that says you can't build or convert to a sorority house in Iowa City without 1- being really small or 2- requiring the bedrooms to be huge. Can anyone confirm or correct?

I dislike the source, but this explains the city ordinance: http://totalfratmove.com/university-...ing-ordinance/

900 square feet per person? There's no college apartment on the planet that meets that restriction. My 2 bedroom apartment isn't 900sf and I'm sure there are families of 4 who would live in my place.
My guess is a sorority that wanted to spend some real money AND provide parking would be able to get a waiver. The fraternities at Iowa seem to be a revolving door due to mayhem and shenanigans, but the sororities, as far as I can tell are clean and reasonably good neighbors.
