It's mutual selection so you as a pnm are ranking houses and chapters are given a set number of invites that they can hand out in each round. RFM tries to give each pnm a full party card although for various reasons that doesn't happen. I would say if you get a full pref card invite you are doing awesome!
I know it sounds lame but it only take ONE house. It's like the Bachelorette...25 guys to date but only one in the end. It will work out hang in there you are tired and stressed.

Or a carnation, pansy... but there are always flowers at the other end of the rainbow!

I have 5 rec girls going thru this year. Talked to one of the Mom's yesterday her daughter had 8 parties for this round and was happy, (some of her favorites cut her earlier but she has new favorites.
Her roommate is had either 6 or 7 but had lost her two favorites. (she was shopping for new favorites yesterday and today lol)
Third was down to 5 but happy with her list.
The others I haven't heard from yet, one is a stellar girl so I think she is probably having a good recruitment. The other is quiet and a little shy so hoping the best for her...

It's great to hear some good stories, but there are a lot of disappointing ones as well. Cuts have been severe and surprising for many PNMs. I'm also hearing that among those receiving the most invites, not all are showing sensitivity towards those who didn't. No humility, no discretion and it's like rubbing salt in open wounds. While I'm sure some are just reacting to their own happiness and relief, some are just flaunting. This is unclassy, unacceptable and the rush counselors (forget what Bama calls them) need to address it, reminding them that their heartbreaking drop may come next round. Pride goeth before the fall, mean girls. I don't have a daughter in this fight (praise God), but know people who do and also have rec girls out in it. (Some are doing great, some are getting the average number of invites, but everyone still in the game.)
Did a lot drop after getting their invites yesterday?

Have we mentioned the entitled hos on this thread? Unfortunately there are plenty of them in sorority life. The girls who don't have the same schedule as these byotches can at least be happy that their less than ideal schedule means they won't end up in the same pledge class as these girls. But sorority rush does have a way of teaching humility. Insha'Allah they will get theirs. Karma is a bitch.

I love my Debbie but girls...... they can be downright awful at times. Sometimes I think it's a cluelessness about others, they think the world revolves around them. Sometimes I think it's an insensitivity, lack of common sense, or lack of basic manners. Then there are those who are JUST NASTY and MEAN. Those girls are toxic and should be avoided at all costs. They are all about ME ME ME and they'll chew you up and spit you out before you know what happened.
I never wish bad things to happen to young people because there is so much growing up they have to do but there are some where you wish they would have a come to Jesus moment. Or somebody would give them a good kick in the you know what.

Having read through this thread, I am even more proud of my daughter and her friends. They made a pact before recruitment not to discuss the number or name of chapters inviting them back each round. Instead, they help each other with wardrobe selection, practice conversation starters, etc.
I think they have the right attitude about this whole stressful process.

I think the lesson to be learned from this recruitment season is: don't be an entitled ho (pnm or active!)

So many possibilities with that last portion - window decals, pins, tshirts/sweatshirts, etc.

Heard from traveldaughter. 3 invites...all three are groups she has love all along so she is happy. Says she's nervous, too, but at this point, if she maximizes her options, she is guaranteed a bid, correct? That's what the email said that we received today and she likes all three groups, so I don't see a problem. Good luck to all the other PNMs and Moms

Heard from my DD as well. Three invites and she's thrilled! I am so happy for her. Now, I'm off to pack and head to Tuscaloosa.
