Never, never would I cast you aside!! She was just esp nice to me at a bad time so I needed to reciprocate and start being nice to her. We need to be inclusive - though selective...or is it that we should discriminate? I can't keep it straight. Lordy, I'm just getting too old for all this. I swannee!

thank you, Titchou, and I won't take it as a cut against me that you spelled discriminate correctly, even though I left out the "r" in discriminatory, and the OP seized on that and ignored all the other awesomesauce stuff I posted, because I'm so spiritual and deep, and it's okay if you are friends with other people, I can share. I am, after all, the most Panhellenic person on GC.

(Although I would appreciate it if you guys would cool it on the Southern speak. "Swanee" - is that a curse word?)

Swanee - Old Southern slang for "swear." (not curse, that's a whole nother ball of wax, but promise) It's kinda like "I DO declare!"

And I had to get some work done or I would have made more caramel corn.

I have cane syrup and sorghum in the cupboard - I was just going to make the pecan (that's pah-can - not pee-can Alex frickin' Guarnachelli) with fresh pecans from my inlaws trees for tomorrow. I will make extra for us to share.
(and throw in a couple shots of brandy....)

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Pee-can sounds like something used prior to the advent of indoor plumbing.

LOL. I know I've heard everything in there -- including "She didn't use Duke's mayonnaise."

You really do have to be Southern to get that one! I've even said "does this come in pink?" But it didn't - though a lot do - but the one I wanted didn't so I had to settle for a dull silver finish....oh well, it shoots just as good as a pink one would. And I don't have to worry about it clashing with my wardrobe....

LOL heard them all. I think they left out a couple though.

For example overheard while buying Thanksgiving items
"well how are yo-u-uu? I haven't seen you in ages!"
"well - lost my husband.
Pause
"it was the secretary"

That and "Mama 'n'em" are my wife's favorites. She has no gun, so she's never asked "Does this come in pink," but she probably would have asked for purple anyway.

Bless her heart.

Another one they left out: "Precious." As in "Aren't you precious?

"Bless your heart."

MysticCat: I post a photo of the badge as my profile photo, usually post a photo of the flower as the cover, and write a blurb about the GLO with a link to the website.

One of my close friends serves on a Homeless Outreach Board and he was super impressed with Theta Phi Alpha's philanthropies and statement of purpose/philosophy (that was today's GLO).

I'll post the salute to Sinfonia for you here (if this thread doesn't get locked) or can send you a link to what I post.

I am purposedly not entering into all this Southern Speak convo. You guys need subtitles. It's stressing me out.
