Does anybody know if last year's Miss Alabama, Katherine Webb, is a greek? She's the one who's dating Alabama's AJ McCarron.

She is an Auburn Alumna from Phenix City, now in graduate school at Alabama. I cannot find if she pledged while at Auburn.

To be lovable, rather than popular.

That's true. She still considers herself associated with AOII at some level and has spoken at several AOII functions, but she is not an AOII. She pledged at Jacksonville State.

Hmmm... sounds like maybe she would be a good AI candidate?

She was Miss Alabama USA. Two different fish in the pageant sea.
Thanks to some heavy online digging, I believe this IS the first time in history the Miss America Top Five has NOT had a vocalist.

The night of the BCS Championships, Twitter was on fire saying that she was an AOPi, but I haven't seen it anywhere other than Twitter.

Miss SC had fewer obvious technique issues but I wasn't a fan of the arrangement.

This probably isn't taboo for the Miss America Pageant since I've noticed it previously during talent competition, but did Miss South Carolina use a pre-taped overlay of piano music while she played? I was hearing piano-played notes she wasn't even hitting during her performance.
And what is the name for that performance technique--making the judges believe you are playing ALL the piano notes they hear when some of it is actually overlaid piano music playing in the background with the orchestra.

Hmm, I'm not sure if there's a name for it when it refers to instrumentalists--it seems like it would be analogous to lip-synching, right? Gross. At least Miss Wyoming didn't do that, but the fact that her technique will land her at the chiropractor/physical therapist within a few months might make up for it...

Miss America 2013, Mallory Hagan (Pi Beta Phi), won the Democratic primary for Alabama’s 3rd district in yesterday’s primary for U.S. Congress. She goes against the incumbent on November 6th.
