I cannot believe that I know exactly who you're talking about.

MC, correct?

My pledge class had two 23-year-old guys, a 28-year-old, and this new spring pledge class has several older guys. With more guys coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan, I wouldn't be surprised to see more older guys pledging over the next few years.

Hey man, the only thing you can do is try. If they say no just because of your age, then they probably aren't the kind of guys you'd want to hang out with anyways.

The fact that you're in a band is going to be a major plus. Be sure to push that so that it shows that you've got something to offer the fraternity. Perhaps offer to play some songs with your bands for some upcoming rush events?

I think it varies from school to school and chapter to chapter, my Greek system is pretty small and in my chapter we had guys join at 24 and 28 in resent years. It most def. doesn't hurt to take a look into it and see what happens. Best of luck to you guys.
