Wow did anyone else end up in tears at the end of tonight's episode?

Not quite... but if people who watch don't already know Capt Phil dies, they should have a good idea. I <3 Captain Phil.
And duh, Jake's an addict. You'd have to be blind and have the TV on mute not to notice that.

I was in total shock about Jake being an addict. I'd like to know when it started and if Josh knew about it. What did you think of that episode when he had to go to the Northwestern for three weeks?

I was so sad watching that episode. For the rest of his life, Jake will have to know that towards the end of his fathers life, they had this argument in which Phil told him to get out of his life.
I am curious as to if Josh knew because based on what I've seen on the show & stories I've heard, they were not close at all prior to Phil's passing.

Mike loves Sig's comment, "I just realized. I'm THE dick."
He keeps quoting Sig & laughing.

I teared up during this episode. So heart-breaking because we already know how this story ends.

I don't think I can handle next week's episode. I could barely handle this one, especially when Jake Anderson was talking.

I was wondering when the other captains would start finding out. To be honest, it was Keith's reaction that sent me over the edge crying. Sig turned off the lights as we know he didn't want that filmed, Andy was in shock & called Johnathan but Keith. Wow. He cried & didn't care that they filmed it. I cried too. What surprised me that I didn't know was that Johnathan Hillstrand was there with the Harris boys & Phil during that time. I don't think that was ever mentioned before. Also, seeing the reactions of the crews made me tear up again.
The next few episodes will be rough to watch.

I think the next one will be especially hard because they show Phil in the hospital, awake, and with his head shaved from the surgery. It's so hard to understand how someone could be seeming to do well, and then their health takes a plunge and ultimately kills them.

Wasn't it Sig the one that grabbed the cigarettes & threw them in anger before shutting off the lights?
And yeah, it's getting harder to watch. I remember reading Discovery saying they would only air what the Harris boys gave permission to air & that Phil told them to keep filming no matter what.

I'm watching last week's epi for the 3rd time and it still makes me cry. I read that next week is the dreaded episode. Tonight will be rough. I think on last week's episode, what got me the most, was Freddie's speech to Josh while sitting in the wheelhouse. I think Josh will forever be grateful to him for kind of pushing him to go be with Phil.
In other news, I like this new captain Bill. I can't remember the vessel's name.
