Vertical Horizon is definitely big in Virginia. I listen to it all the time beating up and down the interstate

Jenny McCarthy (um, I don't know if we can call her a celebrity...) went to a h.s. very near mine and I was at a party she was at once...This was before she was a celeb nationally, but let's just say EVERYONE knew of her, if ya know what I mean....

This is just a funny story, my best friend lives in the same neighborhood as Christina Aguilera, and one night (at like 11:30) christina and her mom pull into the driveway and catch my friend and some other people TPing her yard- and christinas mom recognized my friend, lol. They had even written "slut" in the yard with toilet paper, christina said " nice job guys" lol.
apparently, people from her town dislike her.

Cool

I met Backstreet Boy, Nick Carter at the movies (we were both seeing Mulan). My lil sister was a big fan and recognized him first. He was sitting one empty seat away from me! It was in Tampa, his home town...he was with his long-term girlfriend.

I grew up in Arkansas, and one Labor Day then-Governor Clinton was campaigning for re-election. His wife had recently written and pushed through some "education reform" that was perfectly hideous. My friends and I went over to him. I shook his hand (yes, I have since sanitized it by boiling it in alcohol) and then proceeded to tell him what I thought about him letting his wife interfere in things that she knew nothing about. We indicated that several of us had recently turned 18 and would NOT be voting for him unless he made some changes and controlled his wife.

I met the members of the rock band, Rush: Geddy Lee, Neil Peart, and Alex Lifeson at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.

I met Weird Al Yankovic on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. We caught up with him again at Pat O'Brien's. He was way cool!

I also met a few of the Houston Rockets players:

Hakeem Olajuwon, Robert Horry (now of the LA Lakers), and Clyde Drexler.

Greek Love,
Jen

SparkliiQTMTSU: How was Jodie Sweetin? She joined Alpha Phi last year.

I saw Scottie Pippen once on the street in Chicago, but didn't talk to him or anything.

OK now EVERYONE will know I'm over the hill. Sat on the lap of the guy who played Cocheese (sp???) at Sears, touched the jacket of JFK at a parade, I was a Doll for Dole when he ran for Gov. in Kansas, Shirley Knight was from my home town, was behind Seals and Croft at the Dallas airport. I met John David Souther, (think Linda Ronstadt or Souther Hillman Furray Band-I have photos LOL) and briefly met Willie Nelson as our band opened for him. Our neighbor recently wrote a book The Greatest Course That Never Was (any golfers?) I met David Duke before I KNEW who David Duke was. (He is pure evil for those who don't know). I would like to meet Bush, but lost my chance. Another neighbor had connections when he was still Gov. of Tx.

Hey SparkliiQTMTSU: I was told she joined Alpha Phi at Chapman University in California (Eta Upsilon Chapter). Also, her website had something posted about it last September.

Thanks for the info! She's always seemed like a great gal!

I marched in the NYC St. Patrick's Day parade with Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2000 when she was the First Lady. I saw Mayor Rudy Giuliani there in 2000 and 2001 as well as other New York politicians. Patrick Ewing of the NY Knicks was on the plane when I flew to the Bahamas on Labor Day Weekend. We were flying out of JFK and the passengers errupted with applause. He is the tallest man that I have ever seen. Last December, I went to a comedy club and the M.C. announced "We have a surprise guest tonight. Give a warm welcome to Mr. Jerry Seinfeld!" It was very cool, and he was hysterically funny as always!
