A bunch of actresses who have been in the show are doing a "Women of Wicked" show at my alma mater next month. I'm so excited I've been Wicked obsessed for years and collect Elphaba autographs.

Ooooh I never even thought about collecting autographs. After I got my Idina autograph, it was a wrap. Lol I'm very tempted to post a picture of my living room. The Wickedness is a little overwhelming at first but what else was I supposed to do with a room that came with green walls?

I have to say I liked the musical much better than the book. In the book I found Elphaba to be a bit too self pitying ("It's not my fault, everything sux because I'm green.") I wanted to tell her to get over herself.

I thought for sure I had posted in this thread! Oh, well.

I loved the show. One of the best I've seen, honestly.

I enjoyed the book as well, but it's so different that it's hard to discuss them both at the same time. As MC said upthread, the book is definitely suited for a book club read.

All that said, this thread makes me miss DeltAlum.

Yes! I was just thinking about him and his son the other day...I was thinking how awesome it would be if one day I got to work with his son!

You have to read the book to really get the gist of that, and even then . . . .

It's a religious (as in Ozian religion) thing. From the Wiki:
The Clock of the Time Dragon: A traveling show, which contains many magicked tik-tok puppets that act out prophetic scenes. At the top of the tower-like container that holds the show, there is a painted clock, hands perpetually at one minute to midnight and above that, a tik-tok dragon so lifelike as to strike awe in the hearts of all who see it. It is the center of the pleasure faith religion and is accompanied by the dwarf. Elphaba is born inside the Time Dragon, and receives the revelation that the Wizard is her father from the Dragon. Many of the characters in the Dragon's shows are later hunted down and killed or at least harassed, including Elphaba's parents and Turtle Heart.
If you've read any of Baum's other Oz books, you may remember that Tic-Toc was a robot-like character in some of the later books.

I saw it again in Birmingham yesterday! Slightly different, especially with the way Elphie returned, but just as good.

I've been waiting nearly a year for it to come to Sacramento and now that it's here, I can't go.

Thanks for bumping this post. It reminded me that I needed to buy Wicked tickets for the run at ASU.

Let me know if you found any... I tried weeks ago and the pickings were really slim to none.

Y'all are going to hate me but I got 6 tickets for $30 each. There was a special ticket sale for Girl Scout leaders.

There are some cool new T-shirts this year!

That's awesome. I bought tickets for 4 so I could entertain my parents while they're in town "taking care" of me.
