FYI

Season 3 does not begin until June. This is Season 2 section B.

I saw Wednesday night in a future ep preview that Terri told Damon that she is still in love with him.

I have a question. Why is Damon apart of the same mess that cause him to break up with Terri? That seems dumb, hypocritical, and etc. to me.

I think this will help him see what is really important and teach him how to better apologize to Terri. He is able to see "real marriages" with Max and Kenny and Lem and Bird in so far as they are loyal to each other. Now he can recognize Terri's insecurity -- both of her husbands cheated on her and Kenny left her for Max.

At any rate, his job as an agent will keep the plot lively and me fired up @ that bastard of an athlete he represents.

I got a lot to say

First I want to talk about that selfish azz athlete: Did you see him kick soccer girl!?!?! If ya azz was not such a sorry athlete, you might be rolling in endorsements. But since your number one priority is to have sex with every woman other than your wife, you like a Faith Evans song, "YOU GETS NO LOVE!!"

Moving right along, Riley's dad: Boo if it was not for the relationship that Kenny's family has with Damon, your kid would not have had a shot in Hades in being a contender for a commercial. I almost choked when I saw him after Holyfield/Lennox Lewis bout looking like a rejected BLUES CLUES!! UGH BOOOOOOO on you and your son for giving my peeps Black eyes.

Terri, girl, calm down. You don't have to do all you doing. Although I give her much respect for getting old dude to stay with the law firm.

NOW ON TO AVERY, GEEEEEEEEEZUZ I was blown away that his little azz was the fire culprit. Now see, Lem, dang please do not get caught up in FILKY/PHILKY's dirty work, BTW, WHAT TYPE OF NAME IS FILKY!!! Avery's grandmother living large with her big azz screen tv but living in straight denial that an 11 year old should be taking care of his grandma like that. I know she knows what Avery does, don't get me wrong but dayum you had to realize that sooner or later Avery might have either been killed, jailed or strung out. Did they ever say what happened to his mom and dad? I was really touched by Lem going by there and I know he will take care of Avery' grandma and keep in touch with Avery.

Next week looks to keep everything going on the intense side of Soul Food. Did you all see Terri laid out on the floor at the end of the previews?

All right I think I covered what was on the TOP of my head but once you all drop your POVs I will be back with more. Sphinx, KimL, TickledPink, C&C1913, et al where are you at?!!!?!?!

CT4, I don't even know where to start.

First let me get this off my chest because I have been thinking about this since last night. Is Lem crazy?!! I don't care, but there is no way on this earth that I would get into anything with Filky. That I got your back for life bond is going to come back to haunt his azz....trust me on that.

When I saw that big TV screen at Avery's grandmother's house at first I wasn't sure what I was looking at, then I realized that it was a big screen tv. Yeah she is straight simple if she doesn't know what Avery was up to. She cracked me up that she was going to call the polic on Lem, but in the same breath said see you next week so she can get her money. What kind of mess is that, you living off an 11 year old.

That was really deep when it was brought to light that Avery is the person that had the store burned down, and what about when the detective came to pick Avery up, he still has a smart remark to say even though it was proven that Lem was innocent.

Damon's client, he is really bad news. I was like no he didn't just push that girl down. Terri is way out of control. Her we go back with her having to be in control of everything, and have her hands in everything. Next week when her azz is laid out on the floor I hope she finally learns that she can't do every damn thing.

I just have one question, the Wilma Flintstone outfit that Terri had on when she went to the construction site, what was that about? I just wasn't feeling the way she was dressed seeing that she works in a law firm. I know people have busniess casual, it's here at my place of employment. But everytime I looked at her I kept thinking that she is dressed like Wilma and Betty from the Flintstones.

I too was amazed @ the skirt that Terri wore to work. It was cute but definitely not what I picture a sophisticated lawyer like Terri to wear to the office. I was digging the ensemble though.

Now really though what is up with Bird's hair: I Dream of Jeannie, old school ponytail with no hair hanging from scrunchie, flip, etc. She is straight unbeWEAVEable.

That's what I'm saying. I was feeling the outfit, but just not for the law firm, and like you said Terri is supposed to be sophisticated.

My first thought about Terri's outfit was it was cute but wrong place wrong time to wear it and secondly it darn near made me think she was going there to sell more than the firm
Terri is ALWAYS trying to do to much but I still don't feel like the male partner should have fronted on her like that at the meeting that could have been done in private. The male partner has been dissing her alot lately.

Lem made a BIG mistake making a life long bond with Filky. That is one check brotha man done wrote that his azz won't be able to cash without getting in some type of trouble. Last night I also noticed I don't like the way Lem talks to Bird. To me he is always snapping/barking orders. Like when she came in the house with the baby and she said," Hey baby what's going on?" He didn't say Hey Bird, Hey Dawg, NOTHING but "Go put the baby in the bed" Mad or Upset, negro betta speak to me when I enter and speak first then carry on the conversation.

Damon's little sorry athlete is a trip. He wants to blame his shortcomings on Damon when in all actuality it is his sorry behind.
Next, where were the parents when the sorry athlete pushed and kicked the soccer kids? Athlete or not I would checked his sorry behind for putting his hands on MY child.

I can't wait to see next week

My thoughts...

I could not wait to log on to see what you all had to say about last night's episode. I'm going to start off with LEM: When is he going to learn?! I specifically stated last week that it seems like he would never learn his lesson. Somebody replied and said that he was fronting or something, but sure enough...he's right back at it. When it's all said and done, I think Lem is going to get hurt.

Avery: I knew he had done it when Filky and Lem saw him in that shack or whatever it was. That little boy...I don't even know what to say about that situation. It made me really think about how it really is in the "REAL WORLD." There are so many little boys and girls that are in Avery's shoes. And to know that grandma could care less. I noticed that big screen TV, but most importantly, I saw all of those Jesus pictures and Crosses...but she was cool letting her 11 year old grandson do whatever he does in the streets. That's so sad.

Terri & Bird need to do something with their hair. I mean Terri's hair gets worse every week. That greasy flip has to go! I liked it best when it was short. Bird needs to chill on with that phony pony. It's UGLY!

Kenny is so fine to me! I loved when he popped ol' dude in his eye! Why did that guy look like a raccoon when when he went to their house?! I loved it. Lastly, I can't stop saying how fine Damon is. My goodness...that brotha is all that and a pot of MUSTARD AND TURNIP GREENS!!!!!

I look forward to watching Soul Food. I go to Bible Class to get my spiritual food, after that, It's SOUL FOOD! The show is the Number one sitcom that comes on SHOWTIME. They're doing it up!!! Look forward to some more discussion!

I'm OUT!

I definitely think that Lem's decision to have FIlky's back for life is going to come back and bite him in the azz. You can't make a deal with the devil and expect not to get burned.

I had not thought of Avery as the culprit but can see it afte al ahe has been thorough and Lem giving him back (like a pair of shoes) to Filky. He is a mixed up, scarred 11 year old who had a whole lot of misplaced anger. Lem made himself a target of that anger and that is all she wrote. I think it is very sad to see how that child has to live an how his grandmother was and waht he had to do just so they coudl get by.

You can see Terri gradually warming back up to my husband....I mean Damon. The sheer fact she even asked to talk to him was a switch. Considering her experiences with cheating men and everyting that they have been through, it will be interesting how they try and manever them back together.

I thnk Terri is really feeling the presure at work. As well she should. WHo knew that Maxine's little bid for Alderman was going to amount to political and professional suicide for Terri. Last week when her assistant to ld her people were talking about her costing the firm large accounts I knew she had something to worry about. Hopefully she will succeed in turning it around and get back on a good foot with the partnership before things get too out of hand.

I love this show. A friend who does not have Showtime saw it for the first time while at her mom's over Christmas and was hooked. If you are reading this and don't watch it- start. If you know someone who has never seen it, encourage them to watch. I will be one angry sista if this show ever gets cncelled.

PS- And yes, Terri and Bird's hair need some work!

Dang!!!!

I didn't get off until 3am, so I missed the west coast version, too!!!

Anyway, I'll catch it on Sunday and come back with my thoughts. But, I do have to say... didn't they say they found "ejaculate" on the counters? So Avery is doing that??? Wait, don't tell me. I'll be back on Sunday!

Me too!

Now, to my comments....

I was shocked that Avery was behind the store burning. Also, the crack-house/crackhead scenes was very depressing to me...there's nothing like a dose of reality.

Lem IS crazy!!!!!! What in the world is he thinking? Did I misunderstand or does he think that Avery will rat on Philky & he want have to live up to his end of the bargain?

I can't wait for Terry & Damon to hook-up!

I think that Lem sees in Avery what no one saw in him at that age. That Avery is a "good" kid or one that can possibly still be saved. He feels guilty for leaving Avery behind earlier this season. He is being Avery's "saviour" if you will.

Taking Avery from Philky is his way of getting him out of a "bad situation" that will grow far more dangerous as we see that Philky is not the most stable person in the world. However, promising what he promised is a wee bit extreme. Lem seems to have forgotten about his wife and son as well as sisters-in-law, brother-in-law and nephew and nieces. Lem has come a long way, too long, to get caught up in that life again and take others with him. He owes it to his family to do the right thing.

Oh and that twisted azzzzzz cop made me wanna hurl last night!!

I agree, I'm sure there will be some kind of twist the writers will throw in, in order for him to get outta this mess.
