Best episode... again
Whew...
Stringer wasn't BEGGING for his life, but he dayum show tried to pay his way out. Omar and Mouzone weren't trying to hear it, though. I am glad he is dead. He wasn't starting to act like a little _____ (having fits and slanging paperwork around).
I especially like when Avon said, "Clay saw your ghetto ___ a mile a way." The scene where Avon and String were on the balcony of Avon's crib reminds me of the scene with Nino and G-Money on New Jack. Remember when G-money and Nino said the words, "Am I my brother's keeper." Well, that was similiarly to when Avon hugged him and said, "Us" (which was what he and String always said). I kinda think String knew he was gonna get popped, because when Avon asked him what time he was going to be there, String looked at him funny.
I was also proud of McNulty for walking away from that braud. She was only trying to milk information out of him. His wife is COLD, so he needs to try and get back with her. If not, maybe he can get Kema to change her mind about men .
I think Avon may end back up in prison though. That dime that Stringer dropped on him is going to result in a parole violation. Can't wait to see what happens with Marlo. He runs a tough crew, but he doesn't have enough juice (politicians, lawyers, judges, police) to take over half of Baltimore. Prop Joe is too much of a businessman to let all Avon's real estate go to Marlo. Plus, now that Avon let Mouzone get his revenge, he has love from NY again. That may come in handy since Prop Joe might cut him out of the loop. He can always get product from NY.
Well I guess "Ol Cutty" won't be returning to the game. It looks like he has taking a liking to teaching those kids how to box. That one kid got broke off, but he didn't quit.

I'm in deep mourning. Why they have to kill my baby daddy???
Seriously, I think they intentionally shot Stringer in the chest because they will be bringing him back. He had to have on a Kevlar bullet proof vest. It was so obvious that Avon was gonna have him popped!
Unlike most, I liked the direction Stringer was goin. He was using the game to go legit. To me that's smarter than tryna uphold street credibility.
He's comin back - believe that!

I am in DC....
Why my girl was telling me about a Big G from Backyard band and I kept telling her that I didn't know who she was talking about. I kept telling her about Slim Charles and how cute I thought he was (what a voice....dayum he cute!) and she didn't know who I was talking about. Then, you posted this and I'm ROTF because we were talking about the same person the whole time. LOL!
So, I sent her an email to let her know that and I will see what she says tomorrow. That's really crazy because I don't like go-go and she was telling me and I was like
Anyway, I am in DC and I am SO madd that I missed that event from back in Oct. Then again, I may not have been too much into The Wire. I was watching it, but not really into Slim Charles. That I missed it. Dang!!!
I have to admit that I am proud of McNulty leaving that chick too because she was no good for him.
I agree that String will be back because I believe that he was wearing a vest too. Then again, Omar had that powerful gun (whatever type it was) and he was close. Vest or not, that alone should have "killed" him, but you never know.....

Q, Yep...Slim Charles is Big G. Backyard Band is my favorite go-go band actually and I have cd's and tapes for days with his voice on it.....you'd be in heaven....you and Orange Moon.....LMAO
Sidebar: Most people who haven't grew up in the DC/MD/VA area do not like the music genre. What you hear on the radio makes people who are unfamiliar with it not like it.....you MUST go to a live show

DC_Zeta: I grew up in VA (and am still here), 15 min from DC and Crystal City. I have to say, that I NEVER liked go-go. I even lived with my cousin who was in a go-go band and listened to it ALL THE TIME and I liked it when I was younger, but now I can't STAND it. I don't know what happened between now and then, but it sounds like NOISE on some pots and pans to me.
A live show?! Never catch me there! Unless, Slim Charles was there. Now THAT I will see!!
Oohhh, tapes with his voice on it.....you ain't lyin about me being in heaven. I don't know why I like it, but its sexy.
I like Method Man's voice too.

Although it would be nice and very "soap operaish, "I doubt very much that Stringer will return. They had in big bold letters as they showed previews of the season finale "Stinger is Gone."
And speaking of the GoGo music. I was born and raised in New England and never heard of it until I went to Delaware State where they always featured a Go Go Band during homecoming. I absolutely love it. It's fun and freeing in a sense, like House music. But I love to dance so that may be why I like it so much. So there are folks outside of the DC/VA/MD area that like Go Go music.

There are too many unanswered questions for this to be the last episode...
Dante shot Tosha!!! I read the episode guide on HBO. Darn that's why Omar was all up in the air when the police asked for a shooter.
Fruit punked Cutty on a package. Cutty was about to take the little guy out but at the last minute came back to reality. What's going to happen with that?
What about Kima and Cheryl?
And, while reading the guide I read this:"
Greggs and McNulty press Bubbles back into duty to gather street intelligence on the Barksdale gang, which has lost its prime territory, the Towers. Bubbles discovers that some of the city's best turf — downtown near the lunchtime crowd looking to score — is now controlled by "a young boy name Marlo." He also offers up the tag number of the Marlo's SUV. Looking into Marlo's background, Greggs discovers that he was a murder suspect until a witness who'd agreed to testify against him was found dead — two bullets in the chest and one in the mouth — and Marlo went free. " So that's his MO. Something better happen to Marlo!!!

OrangeMoon: Thats why alot of us are on junkie status now because there are so many unanswered questions. They are basically keeping us viewers in suspense.
I'm so addicted man....I feel like my mom and her addiction to the story lines of day time soaps

Whacked! Another HBO Main Player Meets His End
By LOLA OGUNNAIKE
Published: December 13, 2004
ans of HBO's hit crime series "The Wire" may have been shocked off their couches last night when one of the show's main characters, the calculating drug dealer Stringer Bell, was gunned down in a gruesome ambush.
But it is unlikely that anyone in the Sunday-night audience was as stunned as Idris Elba, the 32-year-old actor who has brought Stringer to life since "The Wire" began three years ago. "When I first read the script I was like: 'What? No! This isn't supposed to happen,' " Mr. Elba said over dinner at an Upper West Side restaurant. "I was deeply disappointed. It was a surprise, a complete surprise."
It is an unusual move to be sure, but one that has become increasingly common on HBO, a network known for unconventional plot twists and bold, can-you-believe-they-did that? surprises. "The Sopranos" has never been shy about doing away with major characters - Big Pussy, Ralphie and Adriana were all killed off. "Deadwood," the drama series set in the lawless West, lost its Wild Bill Hickok. And D'Angelo Barksdale, the young drug-dealing character who carried much of the first season of "The Wire," was strangled in a brutal prison scene. Another prominent "Wire" character, Frank Sobotka, ended up with a tag on his toe after being shot in the second season.

Adios Senor Bell...
I heard through the grapevine (a writer) that the reason why Stringer left the WIRE was because he wanted to make more MOVIES and get out of the TV series. So if this is true, I doubt very seriously if he will be returning back. Plus, after reading that websight that Kimmie 1913 posted, I don't think people (like Omar played by a guy named Williams) were crying on the set for nothing. HE AIN'T COMING BACK!
BTW, he had a very discusted look on his face when OMAR said, "You thank this bout money. You still don't understand. Ya boy gave you up... n we'n have ta TO-cha his ass neither."
I don't know if anybody caught it, but it looks like Kema is gonna be sleeping with a dude on the next episode. They showed her kissing somebody and (in my expert opinion) it didn't look like a female's back. Can't wait till Sunday.
