The garbage disposal! I was watching a horror movie once and a man turned on his garbage disposal and one of the blades spun loose and slashed him in the eye. I used to like peeking down at the blades while they spun but now I absolutely must stand to the side while it's going...I'm scared I might lose an eye!

OMG yes! Those things totally get me too! Tornado sirens I think I can handle the best...I'm not sure why, maybe because they're always far off in the distance for me. But I HATE the "Emergency Broadcast Test" so much! I seriously feel so uneasy for like an hour after. And the worst is when it's unfortunately a real alert. I've seen amber alerts (for kidnappings) and that just freaks the hell out of me. Ugh, I just wanna hide under my blankets from thinking about it.
Certain other sirens bother me too...specifically fire alarms that talk! I stayed with my cousin when I went to visit her at college once, and her apartment building had these fire alarms that could talk. Someone pulled it at 3am (we were still up, so at least I wasn't scared out of my sleep), and it started talking. It went like "WARNING: THERE IS AN EMERGENCY IN THE BUILDING". And my old apartment had fire alarms that talked, too. It yelled "Fire! Fire!" when the fire alarm went off (we obviously set it off a few times while cooking...lol). And once, I heard they neighbors' alarm say "Warning! Carbon Monoxide!" cause they had a leak.
UGHHH!! I'm definitely going to go hide under my covers now...

I LOVE the beach. I'll swim in the water all day long. I'm not afraid of animals, but sadly enough, I am afraid of.. seaweed. I freak out if it touches me, and I always play out these weird scenarios in my head where so much seaweed will surround me and get wrapped around me that I won't be able to handle it and it'll pull me out to sea.
I'm afraid of spiders, but that's a pretty normal fear.
I'm also afraid of drains. I don't even know if this has a name, as I have yet to find one for it. I avoid pool drains. I hate cleaning the sink. I'm even too afraid to put my feet too close to the drain in the shower, and I find myself looking back at it several times while I'm in there. I don't know what I think is going on behind me, but apparently I'm afraid of something!
I love how I was on swim teams for 10 years, but I'm afraid of drowning in the ocean, and getting sucked into a pool drain

I don't like escalators or staircases where you can see between the steps. I also hate extemely deep water, so diving pools and snorkeling are pretty much off limits. Jellyfish and dead fish make me squeamish too.

Drains kinda freak me out too. Eww. I think it's the unknown. Who the hell knows what's lurking in there. Also, getting sucked into pool ones. OMG I saw an article about kids getting stuck to some pump or drain in hot tubs and pools and there were pictures holy cow, I almost died.

Great way to introduce myself to GC!
So, I've always had a weird fear of emergency lights..you know, the ones that come on when the power goes out? Yeah, when I was a kid, I thought they were creepy eyes looking at me. So nowadays, I still hate to be in confined spaces where there are emergency lights!! Ugh.

I have a fear of high bridges! I happen to live in the wrong state to have this phobia as Florida has bridges every where you look! I also do not like heights! I was in total panic mode when my family drove up Pikes Peak in the car!

Worms. Any kind of creepy, crawly thing with no legs that slithers. I really don't like them. At. All.

Im scared of the movie "Cliffhanger"....I had to watch this in class once and I started shaking and felt like I was gonna puke.I hate watching people fall from really high up and gorges, cliffs, canyons really freak me out. It was hell driving through some parts of Colorado, Arizona and Utah this past March!!
I think maybe this phobia started when I was 12 and I watched a guy sky diving and his chute never opened...

You know, I am so glad I'm not the only one! When I was a kid, I swear they didn't test the system *that* often, and I don't ever remember it actually being used. I sort of grew up believing that if you ever heard it and it wasn't a test, nuclear war or something was imminent.
So now when I hear those tests (inevitably in the middle of the night), they freak me out a bit. Also because now the EBS is used at the drop of a hat, it seems - even for freaking severe thunderstorm warnings. And, I'm terrified of tornadoes, so I hear it and am afraid a tornado is coming!
BTW, I suppose that could be my weird fear. I don't live in tornado alley, and they're not THAT common around here *knock wood* - but I'm always afraid they're lurking in thunderstorms.

I've probably seen that movie 10 times, but it never gets any easier watching the beginning. I always picture myself in her position and how scary that would be.

-Millipedes. I'm generally OK with bugs, but millipedes are so. flippy. scary. One summer while I was a camp counselor, we had an infestation of them under the wash house...I swear, every other night at about 4AM I had to go and rescue a camper from a millipede in the toilet stall. UGGGHHH. I ALWAYS, ALWAYS examined my sleeping bag before getting in it.
-Childbirth/Pregnancy. This is nothing against you moms, because frankly, you're tougher women than I am, and it's a tough job that someone has to do. I really don't get the whole, "it's sooo beautiful!" sentiment. It looks like it's hard work, and painful. Episiotomy? OUCH. And then there's the waterbirth thing...I get why people do it, but at the same time..all the blood and etc that comes out, and then the baby, and then the afterbirth, and it's all just floating around in there? Ugh no thanks. I also don't get the filming of the birth/ the "Baby Story" shows. Do people really go back and watch this afterwards? "Oh look honey, this is when you told me you hated me! Look how sweaty and gross you were".
