Dang Ideal you missed everything. The Daria movie was good too. I liked it most since there were no commercials.

REPEATS
HBO shows the repeats on Wednesday nights at 8 pm Central time. The same time as Bernie Mac.
I agree with whoever said that Carrie looked over the "nice guy" for the "challenge". Who in the heck does she run to? "The Challenge".
Well, in real life, it's rumored that "Carrie" and "Aidan" are a couple, even though she is married to Mathew Broderick from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off".

"Carrie" and "Aidan" showed up at the Golden Globes together -- perhaps that's where the rumors are coming from. Matthew Broderick's on Broadway, but I don't know the name of the play.

 The Producers.
He had a matinee to do the day of the Golden Globes and did not have any more vacation time left since he'd used all his up recently with SJP.

Yeah, I saw that kiss too and thought it curious...
If they really are a "thing" it will come out soon enough-- like on Leno (I HATED that dress she was wearing!)--she mentioned she was leaving the next day for a two week trip to Hawaii with "a friend" since Matthew had to work.
Well, I'm not gonna speculate on the friend's identity, but I hope its not John Corbett. I'd really like to see some of these high profile marriages END before the next relationship begins, know what i mean?
And, perhaps she and John are just really great friends... who knows why she forgot to mention MB in her speech--nerves, she knew he wasn't watching, etc? Julia Roberts forgot to mention the real Erin Brockovich last year, so it happens...
Personally my Oscar acceptance speech (for best original or best adapted screenplay--I'll take either one) is already written and memorized, been practicing it for years, LOL!

SATC
Well I do know a core of the audience was not pleased with how the show was going. Carrie about to get married, Miranda pregnant, Samantha in love(gasp!) and Charolette was married. they needed to change SOMETHING, the plot of the story has been 4 fab single women in NYC. So I understand why Carrie and Adien broke up(even though that boy is FINE!)
Samantha I think won't last long in the whole "love" thing. And I was glad that she didn't give in to saying that she loved him.
I'm sorry, but I kinda feel Carrie on how she felt that the richest woman at the table(charlette) didn't offer to give her the money. I know she isn't responsible for her problems, but that isn't the point!
Miranda and her pity screw, oh gag me
But we still got 3 episodes left, am I the only one that misses the cute intro where they sang "More, More, Moreeeee! How do you like it, how do you like it.."

I don't know, I liked this episode but felt it really went to the bounds of unreality--
I mean come on, how many of us in the SAME position would have
A. Had to move out of the apartment
B. GOne to our ex-fiancee to BEG him to allow you to make the mortgage payments until you could figure something out...basically pay him rent.
And how many of us have
A. An ex boyfriend who could write us a 30K check. (well, I do, but that's ANOTHER story, lol, and yes we call him Mr. Big too)
B. 3 best friends capable of lending us the $$
I mean personally, my parents may be able to help out SOME (not all) but I wouldn't ask them.
If I couldn't get the ex to agree to let me pay rent to him for a set period of time, I would suck it up and move out.
Realistic would have been Charlotte offering to let Carrie live with her in her big old empty Park Avenue Apt.
Only 3 more episodes! NO NO NO I want a new one EVERY WEEK!

I really enjoyed last nights episode because I do like SITC, but get real. What the hell is wrong with Carrie that she has absolutely no savings to her name what so ever that she can take money from. I'm sorry also but I wouldnt have given her the money, I am of the same thinking about lending money to friends...I just don't do it. It's the same thing I have with my rental properties...I don't rent to family or friends. You get to keep your family and friends when you do it that way.
Also I feel Carrie needs to start really saving, and stop that damn shoe shopping like she does. That is crazy that she has spent over $40K on shoes, but had no money in anykind of savings, be it an IRA, or some kind of 401K that she set up on her own. I just really had to shake my head at her last night, because she really hasn't a clue when it comes to her future.
Now as for miranda and the pity sex, I was screaming because isn't that how she got in the situation with being pregnant in the first place. She had pity sex with Steve when he lost one of his "balls" I really like Steve, and I hope he stays on the show for a minute now that Aiden is gone.

No you are not...I think about that intro every week when the show comes on. I miss that intro...it was really cool, especially the way their hair was blowing while the song was playing.

Carrie's situation is not all that uncommon. Subconsciously, some women may be waiting for a man to rescue them-- that's possibly why they have no savings.
But $40K in shoes is ridiculous. Trust me -- there are ways to have great shoes and an IRA.
Last night's episode reminded me of Tama Janowitz's "A Certain Age." That book is centered around a woman who has some of Carrie's tendencies but is much more unlikable.
And I agree with the most realistic scenario being Carrie moving in with Charlotte, instead of Charlotte giving Carrie the Tiffany & Co. ring to raise caiche. Did she pawn the thing?

I love Carrie to death, but she knows she is wrong for spending that much money on shoes. She is trying to live way above her means. She obviously can't afford it if she only has less than $2,000 left to her name. I can understand how hard it is to resist shoes, because I too have that problem. But, I know better than to spend my last dime on some shoes. I would much rather be able to eat and live.
I agreed with Charlotte on the money issue. Money and friends just don't mix. I do not lend anything to anyone. If I let you borrow something, then that basically means that I'm not expecting to get it back. If you give it back, then great, but if you don't, I won't lose any sleep over it.
Samantha needs to stop being so scared to fall in love. If Richard loves her and she loves him, what's the problem? Honestly, she can't want to live the rest of her life without a meaningful relationship. Doesn't everyone want someone to grow old with?

Appropriate????? By whose standards?
Women have been talking openly (i.e."publicly") about sex for eons, so the "Sex In The City" dialogue is nothing new.
Your comments smack of the old double standard that men often saddle on women. You all can be as foul as you want when you talk about your "sexcapades", but women have to keep their lips zipped. If you don't like what you hear, and you can't handle that type of frankess from women, then leave the room, cover your ears, and pretend that we are all little angels that don't talk about sex!!
