YAY FOR BLUE EYES!!!!!

I'm not sure which colors you use right now, but at my recent Mary Kay party - my consultant made me try on this liner called Bronze. It's real brown, but not a deep dark brown. I was hesitant b/c I'm used to lilac and slate/steely colors. But I can not tell you how much I love this liner. I have gotten so many compliments, even people I don't know will come up to me and say 'you're eyes are so pretty'. I swear it doesn't look like much, but it does wonders.

besides that, I'm a color girl - I love lilac, and MAC has a yellow frost shade that isn't overwhelming and it really pops out the blue eyes! but that may just be me

I have blue eyes as well!!! Pinks & peaches make blue eyes stand out. I like MAC shadow in Paradisco--this color is fabulous! I also like the pink Revlon eyeglide(can't remember the exact color name) and the MAC pink shadow paint. I usually wear them with a darker color as well..like Clinique shadow in Shameless.

MAC for sure.........it is not expensive........ if you want to talk expensive try Chanel or YSL. I have a few pieces from them. I just LOVE them. But MAC and Shiseido are my fave pieces for everyday use. I dont know if you know your colors?

anyways........ Yes I also love urban decay for the night time look. I dont know if you heard of Make Up For Ever. it is a french brand... really cool they also have body paint stuff.........

i have blue eyes as well

for everyday i use bobby brown bone or petal as my base shadow and bobby brown heather as my lid color. when i go out i use the petal as my base color and then bobby brown bronze as my lid color

my eyeliner color is called smoke....its sort of a charcol grey color

i still contend that its not just the color eyeliner pencil.....but it looks like the concept that make-up is for enhancing natural beauty and that you are not suposed to really notice that is it there is completely lost on most of you

buy cheap look cheap. i mean how many of you buy most of your clothes from wallmart? and you put cheap make-up ON YOUR FACE

in regards to colors....go to a professional (ie your department store make-up counter girl). PICK ONE WHO LOOKS GOOD. most of the time they know what they are talking about. even if you are not really going to buy there and are really looking for just color suggestions to go buy somewhere else just be like "i'm interested in some eyeshadow and i need some advice"

i mean, its pretty lame to bother a sales person to find the color and then not buy something from them when they probably get commission, but you get the color suggestions

Most eyeliner pencils, regardless of the brand, are made at the same factory in Germany. The packaging and name are what drive the price higher.

You can buy the most expensive makeup in the world and if you don't know how to apply it you will look like a cheap whore. You can get stuff at Dollar Tree and if you apply it correctly you will look like a million bucks. It's not the brand or price, it's how you work it. More expensive shadows & blushes are more finely milled and make it harder to put on too much, but believe me, there are LOTS of women who manage it.

No one is saying to wear superbright makeup in a professional or everyday setting, but every once in a while it's fun to wear makeup that stands out. Day in day out of neutrals is BLAH, BORING.

There's a cosmetics lab in a place near my hometown too...My roommate's mom is an industrial nurse for them or something and she gets all kinds of free stuff...Lancome, Clinique, prescriptives, etc...It's ALL made at the same places!! Some kinds are just better for different skin types and colors.

I have found that neutrogena has a great foundadtion..as does prescriptives.

I don't really think that you always have to spend a lot of money to look good.

I just found some new make up that I really like. It's about the middle of the road prices. It's called Soho. I don't know if it's sold in the U.S. I just saw it in my local drugstore a few weeks ago.

I bought some of their eye liner and eye shadow. They eye shadow I bought is creamy, but drys like a powder and I love it. It does on so well. I love the eyeliner too. It's a pencil, but it goes on really smoothly. Which is great because I hate liquid liner because it always smudges on me.

I use Rimmel mascara.

I don't wear blush and I hate powder and foundation. I don't like wearing all that stuff on my face. My skin is really dry to begin with and all it does is dry it out more. I might use a little concealer to hide some of my more noticable blemishes.

I'm always trying new brands of make up. I haven't found one that I'm loyal too.

My biggest thing is putting on my eye makeup. I never get it the way I want it to look. What's the best techiniq for putting on eye shadow?

I usually wear a soft black or grey, and occasionally blue-violet. I think there's very few people who look bad in black, as long as they don't Tara Reid overdo it.

Ok whoever is saying this stuff about cheap makeup...
I will agree that there are a few brands that are so cheap that they'll clump up on your face or unevenly blend....
But the majority of drugstore cosmetics are owned by designer brands. Cheap eyeliner can be hard, but I've found designer stuff to be harder b/c as someone already said, they're made so that you don't put on too much. The absolute cheapest makeup ever, Wet n Wild, costs me 99 cents for a 7 inch long eyeliner, that is the softest and longest lasting I've ever used.

You want good, cheap makeup? Rimmel is KICK ASS.

To whoever had the eyeliner problem: try to get it as close to the base of your eyelashes as possible. I prefer to put on a little extra and then smudge it with my finger....but I apply almost all my makeup with my fingers b/c it warms it up and makes it easier to spread. If you apply it and it looks too far away or "gappy"...just apply some powder similar to that color along the lashline with a brush...it should make it all blend.

In fact,I would say makeup is the one area of your appearance/wardrobe that it's OK to do cheaply...

I like to look in the mirror and rub lipstick on...but it usually goes beyond the lips - at least a full inch above and below.

I always imagined Rudith's favorite color as being pink. Like a bright bubblegum shade of pink. With sparkles.

Can anyone recommend a good eyeliner with staying power? I've tried Lancome and MAC and by 1pm, its gone.

Plus, I am kinda due for some new make-up brushes....

Suggestions?
