ok, i'll answer my own question....the pride system was founded by the Eta Epsilon chapter at Miami University in Oxford, OH!

(I know I learned this during Alpha Ed, but maybe only because it's my chapter )

ROTFL!!!

I just had to pick up my car from being serviced (ouch!), and was thinking, "It's GOT to be her chapter! I've never seen anything about it!"

And there's the spoiler! Good work on stumping us!

bump!!

I was reading through "Sisters" last night (I was home sick and decided why not read through it since I've never had the chance!) and I learned so much about our history that I didn't learn through Alpha Ed.... so here's my question from the book:

What problem did we face with Mr. Baird (author of Baird's manual) and how was it resolved?

Good question! I had to get out my copy of Sisters to find out that Mr. Baird contested the date that ADPi started. He said it was 1904. Jewel Davis Scarborough, out National President, provided documentation that we are indeed the first secret society for women so that Mr. Baird was able to print the correct information in Baird's Manual---- that ADPi was started in 1851!!!!

Now here's a question:
Where was the Convention in 1921 held???

I had to turn to Sisters also! The 1921 Convention was held in Estes Park, CO.

In a twist of the game, the next three sisters should tell a bit of trivia from their own chapter! I'll go first:

While she was attending classes at the Pittsburgh Playhouse, actress Shirley Jones lived in the Alpha Delta Pi house on Bigelow Blvd! Several contemporary alumnae have told stories of Shirley talking on the upstairs telephone, wearing only her bra & panties!

Now, two more!

Nobody else's chapter has any trivia?

There HAS to be some random trivia - ie, the house with the rock in the basement!

honeychile...can I play?

When I was a Chi Omega at Mercer University, Macon, GA...Nancy Grace (of Court TV fame) was an ADPi! A recent article in TV Guide listed her age as 39. (I got quite a chuckle over that -- if she's 39, ummmm...that makes me about 37! hee hee)

Well, gee, seeing as how I "liberated" the trivia idea from the ChiO forum, I think it would be fine for you to post some trivia!

Lambda Trivia

Lambda Chapter has many pieces of furniture sent from Alpha Chapter after its closing, including our president's chair, recording secretary's chair and a mirror which hangs in our Great Room, there might be more pieces but those are the ones I am sure of.
