Alzheimer's
Please pray for me. My 86-year old granny, whom I have been the sole caretaker to for the last 3 years, has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. She was in the hospital Christmas week, and since she's been home, she has had various episodes. She's been calling me by my deceased mother's name on more than 1 occasion lately.
I have a family meeting scheduled for this week to discuss immediate and long-term plans with 2 of her 4 living children, and 1 of her neices. I work full-time, and if she keeps progressing as rapidly as she is, I will not be able to give her the 24-hour care that she needs. We are already doing all of her cooking and administering her meds to her.
Please pray that the Holy Spirit will give me the right words to say to the family, as I am trying to hold back some hostility I have towards them for not having an active role in the care of their mother for the past 3 years. Pray that a consensus is reached, and that my granny will be cared for the way she deserves to be cared for.

MzDestiny, You will definately be in my prayers. I was in a similar situation before my beloved Big Mama (that's right, Big Mama! I am from Georgia, ya know! ) passed away. I pray you let the Holy Spirit truly be your guide in this conversation. Read Philippians 4:6 - 9, especially meditating on verse 8. Psalm 27 is also a confort to me in times of stress.

update on my Mommy
It's been a while since I gave an update. My Mom is still in the hospital (it's been over 6 weeks!!) but she is doing much better. She is much more alert and is somewhat communicating with us (which can be difficult when you have a trach) by moving her lips. They even had her sitting up in a chair and have reduced her dependance on the ventilator. We didn't know this at the time, but I think some of the doctors had given up on her when she was at her worst. I'm just glad we are a praying family!
I don't think anyone here knows this, but my mom is a very active member of a AKA graduate chapter in our hometown. Her sorority sisters have been sooooooo wonderful throughout her illness. They have called and encouraged, sent cards and just really been supporting even though they are almost 200 miles away. True sisterhood in action!!
Tomorrow my dad and I are going to visit some rehab hospitals to see the next step in her recovery.
Please continue to keep us all in your prayers! Thanks!!

Prayer for my Aunt
Good Morning All
I ask that you all say a special prayer for my Aunt Valerie Royster. She has been on dialysis for about 8 years now and they called her this past Thursday to advise that they found an kidney and she had the transplant on Friday. Right now the kidney is working very slowly...but I know that the devil is a liar and by Jesus stripes she wil be healed. So I'm calling on all the prayer warriors on GC to pray so the kidney will not reject. Right now she is in very good spirits and my whole family is praying for her.
Thanks for your prayers

Please pray for me, guys. I have been SOOO depressed lately. I don't even know what's wrong with me. I am unhappy with things in my life and I just need to take it one day at a time. Please keep me in your prayers.

Please talk to your doctor. Depression is not something to ignore, especially if you cannot pinpoint a specific situation. There are meds that can help you while you sort things out.

I can pinpoint why I am depressed, but I don't know why I am so overwhelmingly depressed. I will be making an appointment though. Thanks for the concern.

Please pray for God's will concerning an upcoming interview I have on Tuesday. Its with my old company but its a management position at the corporate level. Not only is it an opportunity to learn some new things at a high and confidential level, but the responsibilities are right up my alleyl - plus the salary is dag on good too :~).
"My plan" was to move in August after my lease is up. However, I know God's ways are not my ways and his thoughts are not my thoughts (THANK GOODNESS) so if He's not done with me here in Kansas, then I'll be here.
Gracias saints!
