Jono, stop being that kid that reminds the teacher that she forgot to assign that night's homework.

No one likes that.

Were you talking about me?

If so, I only put in my input because myself and a group of Brothers were talking about getting together and doing this, but somehow we never got around to it. I dont think we ever seemed to get everyones money together to actually buy the brand. I just wanted to let the Brothers who were interested in doing this that they should attempt it in a more responsible manner.

Well, if you do decide to do it I just want to point the TRUE stories I told of my little brother, Jimmy Aguilera, and his classic example of how NOT to give yourself a brand... or a tongue piercing... or a ride after class to your big brother.

It's just wonderful that we have such experts on LXA coming onto a LXA forum to talk to LXA brothers about LXA policy on LXA brands.

It also makes me happy that we have experts on Omega Psi Phi to set all of us LXA's straight.

Again, thank you for taking time out of your busy day to help out the LXA forum.
I'm picking up a slight touch of sarcasm here.... but you're spot on, in my opinion!

Relax. It's perfectly okay to call it LXA, considering that most of us refer to is as such - in fact in our Zeta, it was never "LCA" - it was always "LXA" - and if you want to get all etymological about it, it's probably because we're refering to the Greek alphabet, and since the modern Roman letter representing the Greek letter "lambda" is "L," it is perfectly acceptable and permissible to replace the lambda with an "L."

To try and bring this back to the original topic, ever since I mentioned to my girlfriend that I was thinking about getting a LXA-related tattoo, she has been pressing me to do so - because she thinks it's cool and knows how much LXA means to me. I was thinking about Delta Pi on one ankle and Zeta Alpha Chi on the other.

Basically, I feel that if it's discreet (meaning covered by pants, a t-shirt, and/or socks and shoes, it's okay. If it's not demeaning or disrespectful to Lambda Chi Alpha, it's okay. If it's not blatantly flaunting membership (e.g.: tattooing your forehead), it's okay. I'm not pretending to be an expert on the subject of permissibility of LXA tattoos, but I would wager that thousands.. nay, tens of thousands of our brethren have some sort of LXA tattoo - even if only 1% of our entire membership ever was tattooed or branded, that would be thousands of brothers.

Hopefully, I'll have a tasteful LXA tattoo or two to show off when we all gather next year in Indianapolis for our 100th.
