oh good lord! I think its time everyone took a second to realize that they may be offened and they may have offened someone else and that life will go on. Mistake are made ALL THE TIME and the consequences of those mistakes can affect more people then the one who made the mistake may realize. But everyday people get over these mistakes and their consequences and life continues, maybe not the excat same as before, but it continues none the less. So everyone take a big deep breath and relax, we'll all be ok. and who knows maybe we've all learned something that will be useful in the future. I know i have.

P.S. Can the GC spell check go over this

Didn't you learn yet that only *certain* people are allowed to have *certain* opinions on here -- geez...that was the whole point of WHY the thread was started. It was started to show that only *ONE* opinion can be offered. And thanks for reminding me that I didn't have the requisite pity party poo-poo in my post. I will try to add more as I go along...

I do listen to myself -- and all the other voices -- oops, guess that isn't nice since I could possibly be making fun of people with schizophrenia.... As for your opinion on this -- you are right. WHY on earth would ANY form of MEDIA offer their own twist on things?Why I guess that that means EVERY form of news on TV is automatically filed in the "believe it" category while any other program is in the "don't believe it" category. Anyone remember the stories about when the Orson Wells book was read on the radio and people ACTUALLY jumped out of windows to their deaths because they thought this stuff was really going to happen? Guess that they were all stupid -- or, let's keep sugarcoating "lacking the intelligence to realize that it wasn't real" -- the POINT is that everyone believes stuff that they see on television - whether its a murder investigation on the news or a silly commercial that makes people ACTUALLY think they can lose 2 dress sizes in 48 hours by drinking "magic juice". Television will always have a slant to what side of the story you are seeing. Remember - there are always three sides to EVERY story - side A, side B, and the TRUTH!

ChiDeltJen - I just seriously wondered how your female professors handled your calling all people "chicks" -- I'm sorry that you made the blanket statement. I just wondered how that went over with them. If you'll notice, I keep referring to people by the names they use in their posts -- not chicks, dicks, or silly rabbit tricks.

I only got involved in this whole thread because I don't APPRECIATE the stereotypes that the Sigmas have given all greeks. But apparantly that wasn't the "correct" opinion of the day. Maybe tomorrow...

seriously no one is even saying ANYTHING about the sigma anymore. all the people defending them to the death are the ones that are beating the dead horse now. half the time people don't even say anything bad, they are just discussing what happened in the episode, etc. damn seems that no matter what you write, even when your just trying to be peaceful, everyone has to jump down your throat about it

Seriously, this had turned into a three ring circus. Star Turtle started this thread by stating her opnion. She didn't name any names or call anyone out...she just wrote what was on her mind. Just like everyone else. Now its become counterproductive. Life is way too short to get all worked up over a television show that is obvioulsy edited to show the "juciy stuff". Like I've said before, let's just agree to disagree.

It is FINE to voice an opinion. It is even FINE to vent. I think problems come in when you are decidely NOT doing either, but posting catty, whiny comments. You can do it, but when other people call you on it, don't be surprised.

By the way, no one has mentioned Sigma in quite a while, get off the "We aren't bashing Sigma" pedestal. Ooops! That's right! AXO Alum only mentions Sigma in almost EVERY post...phisigchic, reference the post that ChiOJenn quoted, in bold.

I think NOW people have issues with the personal attacks you all are making, and all the high-fiving over the snide remarks isn't helping.

As for following my own advice? Which the advice about actually DOING something rather than complaining? Ummm....check. Or would that be the advice about perpetuating stereotypes? Because as far as I am concerned any comment I have made on here, up until now, has been proactive, rather than personal. If you are going to tell me to "follow my own advice," at least elaborate.

Basically, you say that we should stop the sigma bashing and that it is wrong because they are fellow greeks. well hello you are bashing everyone else who dares to mention they might not like the show. these are your fellow greeks too. seriously girl you need to lighten up because as far as I can see, all your posts are angry and defensive. so can we all just agree to disagree as blaire has said and just get over this? (yea i know i am just asking for a HUGE response back here) well whatever i am just tired of the arguing. its just another dumb mtv show that makes for a good laugh on monday nights.
