Here we go.........
OK folks, you have been volunteering for committees. Navane thoughtfully compiled the list, and many of you have volunteered since then. You can see from the lists who else has volunteered for a particular area. If each group would get in touch with your members, you can begin planning. For instance, all of the people wanting to work on the Ritual, contact each other, exchange ideas, go to a private chat one evening, and work on it.
AGD Alum, could you contact the others on the list for that, and begin getting them organized?
If we work together, we can get this thing accomplished by the end of this semester.
Thanks for the hard work all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've PMed Tresa and Navane about this... and I finally talked to my boss today. I think my company will do the first round of Gamma Chi T-shirts at our cost. So, whenever this thing takes off, let me know and I'll have one of our artists work on a design. We have a new graphic designer and he is amazing! I think that we might be able to design a crest as well, so let me know if my help is needed in that area.
(I would have posted this earlier, but I didn't want to be accused of "advertising" !!) You know how sensitive people can be about that! I also wanted to be sure that my boss would be willing to cut us a deal. Looks like that will be no problem, so keeping the costs of stuff like that down should help us in getting this thing going.
Gamma Chi is such a cool idea!

I'm IN!!
I've been reading this thread from the beginning, and I also want to be a part of this. My opinions about this idea echos all the other one's before me (It's wonderful!!! )
I would like to work on "Member Development" . . .you know, do educational presentations about things that can help us grow as a person (Would that be part of outreach?). Here's why:
I've always enjoyed solving problems, and educating others on productivity, goal setting, etc. I have a Master's in Counseling Psychology, and the other day while sitting in a Service Excellence seminar at work (I do assessment and admissions at a psychiatric hospital), I had this AHA moment that I really want to work in the area of presentations, training, organizational development, etc. What better way to get my feet wet than with Gamma Chi?
Anyway, that's what I would like to contribute.

I think this is a wonderful opportunity and a great idea for each GLo to work with one another. This is something very unique and different. More than likely the first of it's kind. I would be nore than happy and willing to join. I would also show just as much willingness to be an active and working member if this orginization. If there is anything that I can do to further the progress or assist in any way I will be more than happy to volunteer.

I don't think anyone's brought up the idea of a new member program yet. I had some thoughts on a relatively low-key new member program... asking everyone to do some community service, learn the history of the greek system and maybe GC, learn/review some netiquette, etc.
The whole thing would be on the honor system - there will be no pledge line-ups in Gamma Chi - I know you're all disappointed
Plus, it gives us an excuse to put together a new member ceremony...

I love this idea! Please count me in!
I'm the Chapter Advisor for the Alpha Gams at University of Hawaii and Panhellenic President for the Alumnae Panhellenic of Hawaii.... also the Webmaster for the Hawaii Alumnae Chapter of AGD.... Are there any positions where I qualify to assist?
Or do I get to be one of your first pledges (er...new members)? LOL
We should get some Delta Zeta help here if we haven't already. They have a virtual alumnae chapter called Surfing Sisters. Dues paying members, t-shirts, and all... Very cool concept! and I like the Gamma Chi one even better!
Aloha,
Mai Ly

Website
I visited the Surfing Sisters site before they changed to DZ's only, and it was awesome. You're right, Mai Ly, they had dues, T-shirts, everything a regular chapter has, only they met online. They had regular meetings, organization, the whole none yards.
If there are any DZ's about, would you be willing to visit SS and find out about how to organize and operate that kind of site?
This is great. Keep the PM's coming! we are making so much progress!
Hooray for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG - I CANNOT believe that I just found this post ... DEFINITELY count me in & sign me up for whatever needs doing ... PR, Outreach, paraphanalia - you name it & consider it done!! ...
This is the best idea ever & I can't wait to be part of it ... I'm SOO excited How cool will it be to have our Gamma Chi connection with others across the continent, let alone the country!!
I have a feeling that this could be the start of something BIG ...
Greek Love,
