Congratulations to Hypo and AXO! I had a feeling she would go with the group that had all the women she knew. Those women recruited her in every way possible. I hope she enjoys everything Greek life has to offer.

Congratulations. It sounds like it was meant to be. My daughter pledged AChi O in the fall and could not be happier.

When I read that symphony, I have to believe that she did not just become a new member of The Highline, she always was one:

To see beauty even in the common things of life,
To shed the light of love and friendship round me;
To keep my life in tune with the world
That I shall make no discords in the harmony of life,
To strike on the lyre of the universe
Only the notes of happiness, of joy, of peace;
To appreciate every little service rendered;
To see and appreciate all that is noble in another,
Be her badge what it may;
And to let my lyre send forth the chords of love, unselfishness, sincerity.
This is to be my symphony.

So, for those who haven’t figured it out yet, The Highline is

Alpha Chi Omega

We don’t share a sisterhood, but we do share two colors and a Panhellenic Creed!

!!!!! YES !!!!!

Congratulations! Late getting back to this thread. They just got a brownstone!!!

Your daughter just joined an excellent organization full of a lot of wonderful women. She will have the time of her life.

Yes, at Columbia recruitment, the B's you weren't supposed to talk about were Boys, Booze and Brownstones...lol. Apparently it was a big inequity to have a townhouse instead of a Brownstone so it was a huge deal that AXO finally got one.

I read in a recent article that only 2 Barnard girls are allowed to live in the Brownstone at one time...no more. The article says that over 60% of AXO chapter members go to Barnard...that doesn't seem fair at all!

Probably because they're owned by Columbia? Lots of other student organizations were mad that most of them have gone to greek orgs. It was pretty controversial.

Here's a link that shows the floor plans and gives more information.
http://housingservices.columbia.edu/...wnstones#notes

AXO will be in 536 W. 114th. Those floor plans are available on that site.

Double posting, because someone along the way asked for a bid day pic. This is the whole chapter, not just the new members.

She has so many Facebook posts from new sisters too, even some who are studying abroad right now: one from Oxford and one from Paris.
