I could do it - as long as I didn't think too hard about it!

I was totally inept at singing flip-flop. Then, I finally learned to do it correctly when a former Gammie Man taught it to me. He explained that I should think of the parts as being "in threes". Once he explained it that way, I totally got it. Now I can do it right the first time as long as I'm not thinking too hard about it. Funny how it took a fraternity alumnus to teach me one of our own songs!

Oh man...I remember a few of the door chants still
TRI DELTA, Badoom badoom, TRI DELTA (repeat), and then DELTA DD at the end
I'm a Theta
She's a Theta
Wouldn't you like to be a Theta?
Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Theta
Wooo!
Also there was an AXiD one that was to the tune of that song from the 90's, 'Mickey,' I just remember the last line was Alpha (WOOO) Alpha Xi Delts

OH MY GOD
I remember when I worked in the Student Union at my school I was put in charge of helping the sororities with heavy lifting and some of the basic cleaning they had to do for recruitment.
I sat outside the whole day and listened to their recruitment songs and this one by far is the most infectious. It stays with you for weeks.
I heard a slightly different version though
It was
Come on in, join the fun
Meet the Alpha Gamms each one
Parties, friends, loyalty
Meet the girls of AGD
uh-huh, soglad immanalphagamm
uh-huh, soglad immanalphagamm
I sat out there for so long I perfectly memorized all of their songs. I was at a Student Government event with an AGD later on and she was stunned when I was able to sing the whole thing to her.

Haha, that reminds me of my boyfriend and his roommates...They very close to the Pi Phi house, so they were able to hear all of their songs. One night, not too long after rush, our friend, who's a Pi Phi was hanging out with us at their apartment. We were on the subject of rush, and before you know it the boys broke into "Pi Pi Beta Phi, P-I-P-H-I Pi Phi, Me for Pi for Beta Phi, I just love Pi Beta Phi!" It was cute!
ETA: Lol, I just watched that Gamma Phi Flip Flop video... I love how you can tell some girls have still got it, but others look like they're concentrating super hard to remember it! (Not that I should talk cause I'm sure that I would be in the concentrating really hard group...)

I recently practiced with some collegiates I advise, and it was different than I remember! I swear it got changed on me!

Although it's been quite a while since I've been through rush (yes, it was rush back then), I still catch myself saying these..
Alpha Sigma Tau
T-A-U
T-A-U-S
We are the Taus, uh huh, and we are the best
Sigma Sigma Sigma
Sigma Sigma Sigma,
Tri, Tri, Tri
We are the girls of Sigma Tri
We are loyal to our sisters,
And faithful 'till we die.
All of the sisters would stand on their front porch and jump up and down - you could hear them blocks away.
Alpha Sigma Alpha
A
A-L-P
A-L-P-H-A
Alpha Sigma all the way,

My chapter certainly sang Flip Flop differently than the Chico chapter in that video.

I'm always humming these when I walk around campus:
(to the tune of supercalifragilisticexpialadocious)
A-L-P-H-A, E-P-L-I-S-O-N, Phi,
when asked the best sorority we always do reply
A-L-P-H-A, E-P-L-I-S-O-N, Phi
and a Delta Zeta one they sang as we left:
Hope you miss us 'cause we'll miss you too
Delta Zeta, Delta Zeta is the one for you

Ok..I watched the flip flop. We did that...at Brentwood Elementary school in the early 60s! At that time it was done with two girls and obviously, different lyrics. It started with, "The space of two lips together..." Yes, despite (my) age I remember the whole thing, including lyrics. My daughters, when they were in elementary school (not far from Brentwood) did the same thing! Made me feel ancient...and great...to see this again.

I always get a couple stuck in my head...
There's the "Chi Omega! Chi Chi Omega!..." one that's been mentioned a few times.
Also "K-A-P-P-A! G-A-M-M-A! Kappa Gamma! Whoo! It's what I am-a! Whoo! (repeat)"
And then Alpha Phi lives next door, so right around recruitment/recruitment camp, I find myself singing this one a lot:
We're the Alpha Phis, the silver and bordeaux!
We wear the ivy leaf and we want you to know!
We're A-L-P-H-A P-H-I Alpha Phi! A-L-P-H-A P-H-I Phi!
(repeat)
There's also usually a lot of discussion why it's "silver and merlot," haha. At least bordeaux and merlot rhyme.
