Definitely find out what dues include. While my dues were only $85 a semester (OK, obviously I am a little older!), they did not include rush T-shirts, homecoming T-shirts, formal, formal glass, retreat, dangles, jackets, etc. You get what I'm saying I am sure. It could be like an all inclusive resort. Yeah, you pay more up front so you think, oh my god, that is too expensive!...then you add up all your receipts from the trip you took and find out you didn't do any better.

Good luck! And pref is an amazing experience. I am glad you got to experience it! Ritual is very important in my opinion.

that is really interesting to see some groups/chapters's dues were all inclusive. In retrospect, I would have liked my own chapter's dues to be all-inclusive like that. It seemed every Monday night you absolutely had to have your checkbook for the t-shirts/favors/tickets that came up during meetings!

I'll ask them about it, but I think either way, I might have made my decision, if I do actually get two bids like I thought I would (Side note--no one called me from Greek Life last night to tell me that I DIDN'T have a bid, so thats very nice.) I'm still a little sad I'm going to be missing out on the other one, but I just think the one I'm favoring is the best one because I can definately see myself doing really good things there...everyone really helped with that because you all offered really great advice. I also thought of it in terms of whether I could see some of my very best friends fitting in there, and that worked pretty well too.

Bids are given out at 9 (in thirty minutes) and I have class from 9:30 to pretty much 5 pm and I'll probably have a busy day besides that so I'll update when I can update..You better believe I'll be at Memorial Hall (hint!!!) right around 9 am (because I'm excited...and because otherwise I'll be 100% late for class!)

well, in a way it sounds good, but the flip side is if you have to miss the formal for some reason....AFAIK you don't get that portion of your dues back. And that would suck.
