Those were my favorite captains (and Phil of course). I don't really like the remaining captains.

I think it cool that Sig quit in solidarity with the Hillstrands. Especially since Sig was more than just one of the captains. If I remember, he is also one of the tecnical advisors or something like that.

and now the Hillstrand Brothers gone...there is no reason for me to continue to watch this show...

The new season is set to start April 12th. Woohoo! I'm looking forward to it since I absolutely LOVE this show. From what I've been reading, Josh & Jake Harris don't exactly get along with the new captain of the Cornelia Marie so that dynamic should be interesting to watch. It's going to be hard to watch someone else sit in Phil's chair.

The new two boats joining the fleet are the Ramblin Rose and the Seabrooke. I already don't like the new captain of the Seabrooke. He gave an interview recently (can't find the link just yet) where he basically talked trash about the other captains on the show saying they fake it & act corny for the camera. What a dick.

Is the Wizard going to be participating still? I'd be cool with not seeing Capt Keith every week. I love Sig and the Northwestern crew though. The Cornelia Marie without Capt Phil will be so sad! I can't wait for it to start!

Captain Keith & the Wizard are still on the show. Like you, I'd be totally ok with seeing less of him. He's such a jerk, to say the least. My favorite is still the Time Bandit & that crew with the Cornelia Marie in 2nd but Sig is always hilarious. I'm glad to see Edgar is back. Last season, he was having so many problems with his back, I was afraid he wasn't going to return this season.

Wow. Just wow. I just watched the most recent episode. Captain Derrick Ray of the Cornelia Marie found the drugs hidden in the engine room of the boat and accused Jake Harris of doing the drugs. He called the cops & before the boat was even docked, Jake took off the boat & went to the airport. He refused to take a drug test when the policeman found him.

Just by looking at him & listening to Jake slurring his words, I totally believe he was doing the drugs. In recent episodes, both Mike & I agreed that he was completely faded when talking.

Anyone else have any thoughts? I'm irritated at the crewmen for covering for him. It really looks to me like they're covering for him. I think the Captain was right in being furious at the crew. Without Phil, the crewmen of the CM are looking like idiots & whiny babies.

I went to the Agua Caliente in Palm Desert this weekend to see A Night with Sig & the Hillstrand Brothers. It was a LOT of fun and I learned a lot from the guys about the show, the other captains & other good stuff. I took some pics to share. Alas, I should note my hubby didn't realize that trying to cheer/clap while taking pictures is NOT a good idea so some of the pics are blurry.

Some things they talked about that were both interesting and informative.

1. Apparently, Cornelia Marie Devlin owns 80% of the boat and wants to get out of the fishing business altogether. Jake & Josh Harris don't have the money to buy the boat so if they're forced to sell their share, John & Andy Hillstrand are taking on Josh Harris as a deckhand and Sig is taking on Jake Harris as a deckhand for the next crab season.

2. The Hansens and the Hillstrands absolutely HATE Captain Keith of the Wizard. According to them, he's an absolute prick and not above backstabbing and betraying those who once considered him a friend (including Captain Phil Harris). Johnathan Hillstrand said their issues started a long time ago when he was doing something with a motorcycle that wasn't legal (can't remember what he was doing) and Keith called the cops and turned John in. Also, Sig hosted a party recently for them all and Keith made an ass of himself and started a fight with Sig and his guests before they kicked him out. They didn't really want to talk too much about him but made it clear they absolutely HATE his guts and want nothing to do with him outside of the show.

3. Johnathan Hillstrand is a manwhore according to the other guys. Lol! The stories they told about him were hilarious.

4. Sig is NOT retiring anytime soon and has no plans to let Edgar or Jake Anderson take over the boat. He actually is the dirtiest & most foul-mouthed of the captains which was surprising but he was also the funniest. Loved him! We saw his wife & 2 daughters who were at the show as well. Very nice ladies.

Oh so cool!!!!!!!! I'm jealous. I took my kids to see Cars 2 over the weekend, and the highlight for me was Sig's special appearance voicing a boat named "The NOrthwestern." I <3 Sig (but I <3 Capt Phil more!)

After watching tonight's episode, I really wish that cameraman beat the isht outta Keith after what Keith did to him.

No wonder none of the other captains want anything to do with him. I don't know how his crew can even stand it.
