What annoys you at the movies?

Last night I went to see a movie ~The Bourne Ultimatum~ great movie btw. But this guy who was sitting directly behind me was eating his popcorn so loud, that I couldn't listen to the movie. Then he started shaking the bucket I guess to get the butter sorted throughout the popcorn. He ate his popcorn like this throughout the whole movie. I was like my God how much popcorn do you have? I couldn't move because the movie was packed so I just had to deal with it. Now I'll have to see it again. I wanted to say "Would you eat somewhwere else please. Geez!".

Does anyone have any movie theater pet peeves they want to share?

The last time I went to the theatre the man one seat away kept passing gas--and it smelt awful. I know it was him because of the look on his face and eventually his wife/friend said something to him. It was really bad for most of the last 15 minutes of the movie--and it was one of those theatres that serves dinner during the movie, so we couldn't move.

LMAO @ this.

For me, I don't like it when a group of people come in late and stand in front of my view while trying to track down a seat. That's inconsiderate.

I read some of the comments above about watching movies at home, which is good, and at 1st I thought like this too. Well, I went out and bought a 47' widescreen HDTV, and surround sound, and the crazy thing about is, it still doesn't replace the movie theater. I love going to the movies but only when the above isn't present. I only use my home theater system to play my XBox 360, I very rarely watch or rent movies on it unless I have company, then I'll rent movies.

I can think of one instance where I was beyond pissed, my dad and I went to see some movie (can't even think of it now, it was years ago) and this lady behind us actually answered her cell phone, in the middle of the movie, and started having a conversation. Well I tried to be "nice" by turning around and giving her the "evil eye". She didn't get the hint. Finally I told her to shut up and get off the damn phone. I'm sorry if I had to pay almost 10 bucks to see a movie, I'm going to watch the movie and not be interrupted by rude people.

I hate seeing movies with crying kids. I am always like "take your damn kid outside". My brother and I went to see the midnight showing of revenge of the sith and some stupid parents actually brought their 3 year old and infant. I couldn't believe it. Because it was late and the theater was super crowded there were cops there. Now, these kids were throwing tantrums in the theater prior to the movie started. A bunch of us complained but the cop couldn't do anything until the movie started. Needless to say as soon as the movie started, the kids were still crying, the cop came in and escorted them out of the theater. I was beyond appalled that these parents were putting their own personal and selfish needs above those of their children. I don't want to sound mean, but that experience just soldified in my mind that some people shouldn't be having kids.

Ditto. Hey, what did the lady behind you do/say when you told her to shut up and get off the phone?

Prettyboy...whatcha playing on ur 360 right now? Getting Madden?

BTW..the HD DVD attachment dropped in price...I grabbed it a few weeks ago and it's hot like that...now all I need are movie theater style couches...and I may never leave my room again

And the perfect idea for a man's movie viewing room is as follows

- 7.1 surround sound system
- 50' or better HDTV
- HD or Blu Ray player
- Theater sytle seating with adjustable massage cushioning
-mini fridge stocked full

....bathroom down the hall...hehehe....with otional mini screen

aaaahhhhh.....when I get filthy rich one day

NASCAR 08 and Forza Motorsport 2. Do you play the whole season when you play Madden? I do in NASCAR.

Parents who can't find a sitter and bring their child to movie that is not even for kids to begin with and let them act like wild animals.

That's why I LOVE the Arclight in Hollywood. It's my favorite theater. Always a pleasant movie watching experience.

They have a no-cell phone rule. Not even vibrate, it has to be off. One time an Arclight neo was looking at his cell phone and their was a mutiny. He quickly turned it off.

When my dad in SoCal gets the high end bootlegs... The good ONES!

And I know they be bootlegging at the "Hollywood Video"... That is how we watched "Borat"...

When a mother says "My baby isn't crying just making noises its ok" I went to see Chuck & Larry while in FL, an afternoon showing, and besides for my group, the mother, the baby and a friend, I think there were only 2-3 others in the theater and the kid just wouldn't stop the whole movie and the mother didn't care because it wasn't crying so it was ok in her eyes.

When I went to see Pan's Labyrinth for the first time the theater was relatively empty besides my group of friends and these 3 people a few rows back. They talked, giggled, and laughed throughout the entire movie-a few times I looked back there to see one of them them excitedly engaged in telling the other two a story, waving her hands around & whatnot.

Eventually we asked them to shut up but it only worked for a little while. I don't understand why 3 adults would pay to see a movie & just talk the whole way through it? Everyone else that I was with could understand the dialogue even though I had to read the captions but its still annoying to have someone chatting throughout the whole movie. I just used it as an excuse to see it 2 more times after that.

for all of the above reasons...I am almost done with going....top that off that most movie theaters dont calibrate thier equipment like they are supposed to...the last few movies I saw were so dayum dark and I asked the manager to please check to see if it should belike that and they claim that it's suppoed to be that dark and then when u get the home release it's not like that...may sound a lil crazy but Saw III and 300 were like that for me....maybe they are trying to keep pirates from getting quality copy bootlegs or sumn but...it's annoying.

Another thing I hate is people who take thier infants to see a rated R movie (especially when it's a horror movie) and the child cries the whole time..please for the rest of us spending 10+ dollars to see the movie....get a babysitter or just dont come

You know I hear the cable companies are negotiating with the movie industry to show new theater run movies in the home at a PPV cost......if it comes down to that...I say have a movie party to offset the cost.
