I didn't either, but according to the Today Show interview, ABC released a 12 page document detailing all the reasons Jones' contract wasn't renewed and one of the reasons was the wedding issue. She said she feels bad that she used her celebrity to plan her wedding. She seemed pretty genuine, but I guess hindsight is 20/20 in that type of issue.
btw, she really DOES look better heavier....she's looking a little funky since she lost weight! Especially with the alien eyes

She always annoyed me, in the same way that Ryan Seacrest, Rosie O'Donnell, and others just annoy me. I can't put my finger on it, there's just something that bothers me about her.
She's famous and has a law degree. I don't think she'll be reeling from this for too long...

I agree 100%. It's almost like her arms are 10x too long for her body structure, and she just looks WEIRD. I think her personality was different too. Before she seems more like a "normal" person- as normal as someone in her position could be. Once she lost the weight it was like "Ohhh look at me look at me!" Did she ever say how she lost it?

She said this morning that it was "medical intervention" or something....aka gastric bypass. Evidently 'people' are upset she was never honest about how she lost the weight...ABC supposedly put that in the 12 page document as well...LOL. Can you imagine having your weight loss be an issue at work? The joys of celebrity.

I think the issue with her weight loss is that she kept going around saying that "diet and exercise" was how she lost her weight. So I can understand ABC's issue if she is saying "oh this is all it takes diet and exercise" (and millions of dollars ) but she actually had gastric bybass, she's lying. Which goes back to her character. ABC might be like "she's lied about this, she used our show to help her wedding, etc...we don't want to deal with this". But not being an ABC exec, and not having read the 12 page document (who wants to guess how long it will take before its online) than who knows?

I sure hope no real news happens. It would be a shame to miss the drama.

If I had more time i'd search the web for older pictures of her.
I think she also looks scary b/c of a super facelift. I mean, whose eyebrows are that huge? In trying to get cat-shaped eyes, she looks just like an alien. Someone pulled the string too tight...
And she had to have work done. When you lose THAT much weight, THAT quickly, there's gonna be skin folds all over the place. Particularly in her face, because she lost SO much weight in the face.

I think that she probably had the excess skin removed from her body. I know someone who lost over 100 lbs. and had to have that procedure.
I watched the Larry King interview, and I feel pretty bad for Star. She had to go to work for almost 2 months knowing that they didn't want her back. I don't know how she did it. I'm surprised that she bit her tongue as long as she did and didn't make her departure announcement in April.

Even though Star used to annoy me any time I was home to watch the View, I kind of agree with you. I don't feel "pretty bad" for her but I feel kinda bad for her. I mean, it would suck to have your boss of 9 years fire you when you didn't want to be fired. Plus evidently they didn't even tell her, they told her agent! So as alien-esque as she is, and as irritating as she is, I feel kinda bad for her.

Well, they kept paying her.
I had a situation once where I knew I was going to be "downsized" (officially, but what it really meant was that new management wanted to bring their own people in, so all of us existing managers were getting bounced) for over three months.
Again, it's one of those things that happens in life.
Trust me, she made a fair amount of money for any discomfort she felt.
Additionally, this is a strong, confident, intelligent woman. I doubt that she cried all the way to the bank.

No, I just remember that from watching Intimate Portrait on Lifetime.

She just had it done a few months ago.
I agree with DA said about downsizing in the media. When one of the most known sportscasters in my area was let go, the year before, they gave him a one year contract. That was saying "you need to find another job". Something simular to this happened on BET, when AJ and Free left 106 & Park because BET only offered them a contract for a few months.

I just find it pretty interesting that all the negative press is on Star Jones-Reynolds but nothing is being said about Meredith leaving the view for more money? where was her loyalty? LOL obviously not to the View! I see Star as a scapegoat for Meredith's actions. They feel bad that Meredith had to leave for more money so let's save face and go after Star Jones-Reynolds. Kudos to Star's interview on the view this morning! she displayed class and professionalism.

i don't know... i wouldn't agree with that assessment of the situation. I think Meredith left for a better opportunity (plus much more $$$). She moved to a bigger and better position, she's no longer part of an ensemble cast, now she's the focus with Lauer on a much more widley watched show.
