When I was in MD I used think the same thing. Now I have two within a mile distance from my house, and about another 10 within 10 minutes. It will really be ok if I don't see Sonic after I move.
For me, when I go home to Wisconsin, I have to hit Culvers for custard or Krolls for a hamburger--mostly local fast food places. In terms of big chains, I love Hardees when I am home. Also, any place that serves fried cheese curds and brats.

Mmm yes it is. The've been in the DC metro area forever (I think the original one is in Alexandria) but I'd never been. Went for the first time last week, it lived up to the hype.

Dairy Queen is highly overrated. You're not missing out on anything.

Bojangle's has THE SALTIEST FRIES I have ever tasted. I ate there for lunch yesterday and thought of this thread. I don't even know Bojangle's menu well enough. I will be glad to get home for the holidays and feast on some Popeye's chicken and biscuits and fries.

I rarely get fries there -- I figure who wants fries when you can have their fantastic biscuits. For lunch, I had chicken, dirty rice, a country ham biscuit, a plain biscuit and tea. I was a very happy camper.
Enjoy your trip home!

Booooo!!!!! haha In N Out is definitely a particular kind of burger but I LOVE it. I've heard people say it doesn't live up to the hype, but those of us that grew up with it love it!

BLASPHEMER.
Dilly Bars...Hot Fudge Brownie Delight...mmmmmmmmmm.
DQ is national, but I don't think their presence is what it used to be back in like the 70s - 80s.

I'd eat there but I've been totally put off by the fact that my local DQ is next to the sewage treatment plant the next town over.
