Forgot to say that I saw it in Atl and loved it although the seats weren't as close as I thought they would be, lol.

There were some classic one liners

I read in the theatre notes that they probably will never make a move although Universal has the movie rights.

We had an understudy for El...Victoria somebody.

Everyone was wonderful!

I started the book before I saw the play but didn't get very far. Hubby finished the over night so I'll start it now.

He'll be in OH for 3 weeks so I can finish it...plus Son of a Witch and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister.

Huh? Fiyero is the male lead. Do you know something I don't?

Or, are you trying to get personal?

A) "Wicked" is one of my favorite books- I read it years before the show was introduced and I love them both

B) The musical is coming to San Antonio in June 2009/my 21st birthday- guess who plans to be there???

Wicked sold out here in Charlotte in 6 hours.

I bought season tickets for the very top of the back balcony, then upgraded just the Wicked ones to make sure I got a good seat. The season tickets WITH upgrades for Wicked are about half the price of the tickets I'm seeing now on ebay and through 3rd party "vendors". You might think about going that route.

I'm watching like a hawk for the date that they start selling Atlanta tickets!

My 13-year-old's voice teacher has her singing a song from Wicked for the spring recital: "I'm Not that Girl", I think?

Yep. It's sung and then reprised later.

Good song.

I mentioned in the Broadway thread that a local, Denver area woman, with whom a couple of our kids have performed, is now playing Glinda in New York.

Okay! SPOILERS BELOW:

At the end when Elphaba came back--the head of the guy in front of me was blocking my view but it seemed like Fiyero came sliding in to the floor and was going through the spell book and all of a sudden, there was Elphaba. Was she coming back up out of the floor in a reverse of the Wizard of Oz?

Did they say that the Wizard was her father?

Did the goat-professor ever come back into the play after we saw him as a winged monkey?

I had so many last night but it was so late; when I get my head together, I'll remember more.

Yes. FWIW, this is a change from the book. In the book, Dororthy, who actually came to apologize for klling Elphaba's sister, does indeed melt Elphaba. The book ends with:

"And there the wicked old Witch stayed for a good long time."
"And did she ever come out?"
"Not yet."

Not that I recall, but I may be mis-remembering.

Dr. Dillamond didn't turn into a Winkie. He just lost his ability to speak (which is why the Wizard kept him hidden). And no, we didn't see him again.

You're right. The wizard kept Dr. Dillimond among the winged monkeys didn't he? Elphaba sees him after singing "Wonderful" with the wizard. Perhaps that's why carnation had him as a winged monkey.

And it was initially the wizard's monkey Chistery that Elphaba gave wings.

Correct. I seriously considered buying a tank of sea monkeys and naming them "The Chistery." It's still on the table.

Loved Wicked. I've seen it twice and would love to see it again. Theta alumna Teal Wickes was awesome as Elphaba
