I'm not sure how many members they have, but I am guessing it's less than 15...but again, not real sure.
I'd like to know that myself, how well they get along.

It seems like if there can be multiple social sororities on one campus and they get along, then there's no reason that GSS and OPA can't co-exist alright ... I think the fact that they have not one, but two excellent service sororities on their campus is a real compliment to their school

At Carolina, there is APO, OPA and ESA. All three were able to recruit sucessfully. I don't know if GSS is on the campus (I graduated almost five years ago.)
All three social greeks just pretty much did their own thing. When OPA was established at Carolina, some of the APO members thought we were taking away people who could have been members of APO. The whole time I was there, we never worked with them. This is no offense to those in APO, I do have love for ya'll! But that was the attitude at the college I was at.

No GSS at Carolina...yet
I don't think it would be a prob if there were more than 1 service sorority were on campus, it's just another option for someone. Everybody can't be Gamma Sigs Just kidding.
And it's like that at some campuses in which there are both GSS and APO. Sometimes they work together and sometimes they don't. And both groups have no problems recruiting.

We kinda go through phases with APO here at Tech. Sometimes we're chill, and sometimes we're tense. One of our OPA pledges right now is actually a brother in APO. She wasn't pleased with their chapter's service program, but she's still an active brother there too.
And one of our girls disassociated and went to APO for social reasons. She wasn't honest with us when she left about why she was doing it, which was upsetting.
Some APO's are totally cool with us. Others think that because APO is co-ed, that OPA serves no purpose and should just merge with them...they don't understand that nowadays, we're two very different organizations.

Can a pledge be a member of both APO and OPA? When I was in undergrad, we had two girls who disassociated with us and joined ESA. Mostly personal politics.

Yep, you can. (I find this quite weird, personally, but whatever.) It nowhere says in our constitution/bylaws that an OPA member cannot be an APO member; I checked out the APO constitution for the same thing and I found the same result. As MaryAmanda mentioned, that's the case in our chapter this semester. I made sure to research it thoroughly so as to not get in trouble with either organization.
Can anyone from APO verify this? I read their constitution rather quickly, so I could have missed something.
A little odd to me, but hey, if you want to do community service, do community service.

APO no longer has a constitution, we have Bylaws. (this is the current parliamentary practice, btw)
There is no organization you might join that would prevent you from joining APO. We have no such membership restriction, and never did.
There is nothing to prevent someone who is a member of GSS or OPA to join us, much less someone who is a member of another GLO or any other college organization.
(heck, in the early years of the Fraternity, we were very proud of the fact that our Brothers were also members of many other campus organizations, and many times listed this other organizations)

The person who started this thread sent a PM to ShamikaT that said "I understand. I’m in the same boat." per ShamikaT's post in the Zeta Phi Beta Forum. As many have suspected, there is no friend, if ShamikaT is being truthful.

I'm gonna have to vouch for ShamikaT here...
Now, I would like to ask the GC crazies to exit the building.
