Where I was going with this 98, is that lets say if one day I lost my mind and decided to denounce or de-pledge Delta. There is no way in the world I could becaome an AKA Sigma or Zeta. When the other statements were made, they were worded as such and such de-pledged and joined the organization which suited him/her better. We don't do that.

Because of the way our processes are now structured you aren't pledging in the first place. And that is all you need to know. Thus it is a statement of fact, not of race.

It is extremely rare but I have heard a couple of nightmare stories about it. It is more common at the alumnae level and when people have moved to a different state, or something.

But, I agree that it is EXTREMELY rare. I have never heard of it at the undergrad level. The original poster never crossed, so he/she/it can't even "depledge" as BGLOs (and even some MGLOs and LGLOs) use the term.

LOL

We have a couple of different interpretations of "depledge" going in this thread.

In the century or so that NPHC and NPC/IFC and other types of GLOs that there are, chances are, there have been some African American people who have depledged at one point or another regardless of which umbrella organization you're talking about.

In fact, I would like to offer my own experience with a suitemate who pledged and later decided to depledge her NPHC organization.
Daught, even after they cross and decide to leave the organization, the term is not de-pledged.

At my school, the young ladies wouldn't even dare.

I know, momma. That is just the term that a lot of people use. I guess it can be interpreted as they are "de-pledging their heart to the organization."

You aren't that bright are you? If you are giving this chick advise on what to do from one NPHC sorority to another you are giving BAD advise.

We don't "pledge," anyway.
