Tsunami threat to water supplies

Fresh water supplies in countries hit by the Asian tsunami are under serious threat, according to a UN report.

Drinking water sources have been contaminated by salt water and sewage, and every well in Sri Lanka may have been affected, the study says.

Hazardous materials such as toxic waste and asbestos from buildings may also be in the water in some areas, it adds.

*bump* New quake, same fault line today. It was an 8.2 and there are tsunami warnings for the areas that were hit before. They haven't told them to evacuate, but to be vigilant.

Thailand and India, badly hit by the 26 December disaster, issued tsunami alerts while Sri Lanka evacuated coastal areas.

And CNN tv is covering the Schiavo case while everyone else has the earthquake on.
