I also very much hate when someone on GC doesn't get to rush, or gets cut, and everyone says oh, you can just do AI.

Okay guys, I have some bad news for all of you. Okay, I have e-mailed the person who is in charge of Greek Affairs a few days ago about COB and there is no response. That's not the bad news. The bad news is that I may have to give up if there aren't any COB events by the end of this month. Now normally, there would be at least one sorority that would have a COB event in the spring semester. I know, you all told me so about upperclassmen getting in and I understand. Now, the reason why I had to give up is because I'll be graduating in December, and I feel that there is no way that I'll be joining, since I'm close to graduating. Also, I won't be going to graduate school because of financial reasons. So there's possibly no way that I'll do AI. I'm sorry that things didn't work out.

Also, I might have to leave Greekchat.com.

So, I'll let you know my situtation with the sororities and my status with GC.com at the end of the month.
I suggest that you contact the sororities directly and inquire about COB.

i just thought since she seemed like she really wanted to be involved in a sorority and since she's graduating in december that she might want to look into AI. i've read a number of the threads on the AI forum and i know it can be a long but meaningful process. i just wanted her to know that just because she wasn't able to be an undergraduate member of a sorority there were still options if she had her heart set on it.

Sorry, guys. I really didn't know about joining AI without attending graduate school. Now, I have a change of heart. I will look into AI.

Good news, everyone!

February 8

Mary Anne (one of the sororities) is having an informal recruitment tonight, Wednesday, and Thursday. I will be there. I know my chances, but I'll give it a try. I might never know what will happen.

I've just got back from Mary Anne, and I've enjoyed it very much. There were about 5-6 other PNMs. I was expecting more, at least 10-15. But anyway, the girls were very friendly and I felt very comfortable. They had a Mardi Gras cake and an array of fruit for the PNMs. Tonight was mostly about getting to know the girls. I talked to them about school, hometowns, sports, music, and all that stuff. I avoided the killer B's, of course. They told me about the Chili cookout that will take place next week. They have invited me to the cookout.

Now, I will be back tommorrow and Thursday.

On a side note, you guys were right about informal recruitment.I feel much better with informal recruitment than with formal recruitment, because I don't get rushed with IR and you get to know the sisters more, like in an hour as opposed to 10-15 with FR.

Some people just thrive in an informal environment. We've met great sisters through COR/COB.

Definitely. Our president is a COB girl. It's a lot easier on the sisters, too!

February 9

Well, I've just got back from day 2 of Mary Anne. There were new sets of girls than yesterday. Today, I have painted a planting pot for a philantrophy that had something to do for the environment. Also, the girls were telling me more about the philantrophy projects.

There were the same number of PNM, but there were a couple of new ones tonight.

As far as socializing were concerned, I didn't get to talk much as I did yesterday, but I got to talk enough. (I'm usually quiet, but when a person gets to know me, then I talk.)

Now, tommorow, I will have to dress to the nines because the sisters are doing some type of rituals. So it's black dress pants and pink dress top for tomorrow.

A little secret, many of the sisters were from last semester's pledge class.

I'm going to assume that the party is a Pref Party of sorts. We do "rituals" for our Prefs. I think often the term "ritual" is loosely thrown around.
