Overrated restaurants

A place had better be really good to justify 3 hours, and Cheesecake just doesn't pass that test for me.

I'm not sure why the one in Boston isn't that bad; I mean I've heard of hour waits, but nothing much longer than that. Even then, I've usually gotten a table before the hour is done. Either that or I just walk away.

I'd also like to add most of the Todd English restaurants to the overrated list. I don't think any of them (at least in Boston) are all that spectacular for the price. I heard Figs is great, but I haven't made it out to Charlestown for that one.

Isn't Olives the one in Charlestownor is there a Figs there as well? I ate at one of the Figs locations once and wasn't too thrilled with it. I did like Kingfish Hall in Fanueil Hall, though.

That's how long they told us the wait would be at the one in Louisville last month. The place was seriously packed! We just turned around and left...3 hours is just too long to wait for anything if I'm hungry.

Yes, I was mistaken, it is Olives. There used to be a Figs near where I was living last year.

The food is ok, I just think it's all overhyped, and in some cases, overpriced. For those prices I'd rather eat at one of the better restaurants in the North End, Abe and Louie's, or someplace like that. In the end, though, it's all personal taste.

Personally, I think Kingfish isn't too special - the menu is somewhat narrow, from my recollection, although what we had was good. Overall, it just wasn't impressive.

Whoa--time out--since when is there a Cheesecake Factory in Louisville???!!!??? Where'd they put it? I heard that there was/is a new PF Chang's somewhere, but nothing about Cheesecake.

Yeah, I'll stick to takeout for Cheesecake Factory. But I've never heard of a three hour wait anywhere,that's just crazy.

Dam! I was there one Valentine's Day with a group of friends...it was a half hour line to put your name on a LIST to get a table...and like 3+ hours after that...we left.
