My daddy spent his time being called "sir" and having guys with stripes on their sleeves salute at the birds on his shoulders at work. He sat in an office with the words "squadron commander" on the door cause the guys worked on airplanes that he inspected with a "general" guy. When he retired from that job (after 27 years) he went to work for a company that sold stuff to the guys that drove the big boats.
My mommy stayed at home and made sure the daughters didn't have too many boyfriends .
My husband's daddy spent his time being called "sir" also, with guys saluting at the gold bands on the wrist of his jacket sleeves. He got to be a "commander" of one of those big boats AND a special school in Long Beach. He got to wear a purple heart on a ribbon after a battle at sea and he got to be one of the first american guys to arrive after the "enola gay" dropped her bomb on that big city in japan. He said it was really really really really really really awful, and that is all he will say about that.
My husband's mommy taught guys behind bars how to read and write. She was very proud of that.
Both our parents just can't figure out where they went wrong to have democrats for children

My Daddy is a cowboy.
He likes to ride horses and shoot guns.
He is a little bit scary if you don't know him.

I'm a self-proclaimed bastard child. Therefore, I have no daddy.

My parents change careers a lot. My dad is a loan officer, turned Marketing VP for an insurance company turned small business owner.
My mom is a hairdresser turned salon owner who now mostly just helps my dad run his investments.

Before he had his massive stroke 2 months ago, my sperm donor is retired from the Navy. He retired in 1973 and in 1999 he retired from Engineering dept at Hahnemann University Hospital
He and I no longer have a relationship.

My daddy works for the government and is counting down the days until his retirement (3 years or so).
My mommy is in charge of a chain of hair salons in the Pacific Northwest. She's on the business side now, but she is still a licensed hair stylist. Thus, I get all my haircuts and color for FREE!
ETA: When I saw the title of this thread, I started laughing and didn't stop for a minute or so. ("Your daddy must be big. Is he a wrestler?" I love that movie!)

My daddy works for a mortgage company, setting up loans for people all over the place (if you need a mortgage, I'll hook you up with his company's info! lol... shameless business plug).
My mommy is a teacher's aide in a first grade class.

My dad is a mechanical engineer. He used to work for Disney and designed Typhoon Lagoon. Yep. Daddy is also a non-swimmer. Keep that in mind next time you go to WDW. Now he does lots of stuff w/ vessels and thermography.
Mommy was a teacher. Now she works at a Hallmark shop.

working for DISNEY!!...so jealous! I want to do an internship there in a year or so. I was just in Florida last week and went to "the world" for a day--I love it because everyone is so happy there!
Anyways...my dad is a structural engineer. He has built high rises in Chicago. He's the guy who has his office in the construction trailor on site and schedules contracters, then yells at them when they don't show up...you don't wanna be there when he starts yelling!

Don't be jealous. Granted he was paid extraordinarily well, but at a price. Slave to the beeper, not to mention tons of overtime and after hours work. I spent many a fond evening (while mom was at work) coloring and drawing in Daddy's office. Even still, Dad says it's an experience he's glad he had.
