If it were my GLO, and Michael Moore was a member, I would be ashamed and there would be no way I would say he's a famous alum.

Phi Beta Sigma

Although I'm not a Sigma, I recall that Emmitt Smith (Dallas, Arizona, and wherever) has always been kind and supportive to Sigmas and Zetas.

Condoleeza Rice was the featured speaker at the last Alpha Chi Omega convention.

I wonder what members would be ashamed to have you in their org as well?

I know that in my org we accept people for who they are even if we don't agree with them. Of course that's just my org but I was under the impression that many orgs held the some of the same ideals regarding other members. If that's not true then it's no wonder that so many people look down on greek life, such a shame.

Question

Why Micehacel Moore?

Because He beleives in what He Directed?

Just what does anyone on here know what really happened?

Oh, there was a movie about JFK getting assinated, but was ripped apart. Oh, yes, the Warren Commision, yea right.

What happened to Lincoln or any others who as President were Killed.

You as peed ons will never really know the True Facts as is so hidden.

Drive JFK Cite in Dealy Plaza, know something about weapons and firing of such.

Oh So Sad. We are a group of followers and not leaders.

I dont know of any Leaders that I know of who I would feel bad about in LXA! They had to do at and in Time In Place and make a decission NOW!

Yes she was, and she walked away with a beautiful pair of crystal lyre bookends for her "new office" at the White House

Dawn Wells (Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island) is also very vocal about AXO and her experiences -- so is Agnes Nixon (used to write for ABC soaps).

I heard that Carol Duvall (host of Carol Duvall show on HGTV) did a show about crafts for collegians and focused on greek gifts. I never saw it, but several sisters were talking about it and said she used AXO stuff as examples.

That's awesome.

It's always good to see people in high places OPENLY and CONSISTENTLY crediting, acknowledging, and/or supporting their Greek organizations.

It's not WHAT he says, but HOW he says it.

I have become convinced that he says the things he says with the goal of getting people angry...not with the issue, but with him.

Certainly, it has worked on me. Besides that fact, there is only so much hypocriscy that one can take.

Now, I don't know about YOUR org, but if someone is not living up to the ideals that they swore by it hardly seems that they are awarded the same rights and privilages as one who has.

I take the ideals of my fraternity VERY seriously. If it was merely a lapse in judgement, fine, I can accept that and I would forgive him. However, a consistant disregard for the things I hold dearly is NOT forgivable. In fact, I take it as a direct affront to my character.

All that said, I am not ashamed of the things Michael Moore says...that is an embarassment for his character. I AM, however, ashamed of the way he does things.

I'm not sure but I just know that I couldn't turn my back on a brother simply because of how he says or does things. I've never met two brothers that were exactly alike and after all we are human and we approach things differently. How you see Michael Moore is your opinion but others may feel differently than you do.

Maybe it's just me but sometimes people put politics before brother/sisterhood and when that happens the outlook can be sad.

But who even knows if Michael Moore is greek or not? I don't.

I guess I never really looked at being a brother by awarding my brothers rights and privileges. I view them as my brother, right or wrong, triumph or defeat.

And to that end I step aside.

Not knowing your fraternity, I will have to just base it off of mine.

We take an oath...we enter into a bond. The words and ideals expressed in that oath are very important.

Now, are you going to say that you are going to treat someone as a complete equal if he took that oath in jest or didn't mean the things he said when you took them seriously?

Everyone has their faults, and I acknowledge that. However, it is totally different when someone poorly treats the things you hold sacred. If he is a fraternal brother...you call him on it. If he keeps it up, obviously some course of action would be taken.

It isn't as simple as saying that you are either with him "Right or Wrong" or that you aren't.

Why should that be any different than any other active Alumnus? Plus, people who are famous, succesful in bussiness etc. aren't the same ones who are the most involved with their GLO's because both take up an extreme amount of time.

Somehow I don't see Michael Moore being the fraternity type. He went to University of Michigan - Flint in the 70s so if anyone is dying to check, there you go.

If he was in my fraternity, I wouldn't claim him.
