Dumb comments:
1)"...so it's not like I'm advocating locking them up in a closet; just not in public."
2) "Newborns have no right to be out and about."
3)"Seriously, get a baby sitter, or stay at home until your kid is old enought to walk around on his own and be quiet."
Rude comments:
1)"So stay out of things that don't concern you." To Sandy.
2)"You could use some lessons in sisterhood, though." To Sandy
3) Do I have to remind you of your comment about Amy?
4)"Yeah, I do too, then you wouldn't be here." To Sandy
If you have kids, it would be fun to watch the moment when you need something from the store and can't find a babysitter. But, hell, let's not bring the kid out in public!
Edited b/c Kstar keeps digging herself a hole.

Just as you are allowed to have an opinion, I am allowed to think your opinion is a stupid one. That's the glory of GreekChat.
And, when you give people I like a hard time, it does not make me feel warm and fuzzy toward you.

Just to clarify, I'm not asking you to stop saying what you think. I'm just letting you know that if you have something to say to a sister, please do it privately. That's all.

You think so? I thought the debacle in the DST forum (and the supplemental websites too, of course) last week was more entertaining. LOL

That one would have been better if it had been in one of the Chit Chat forums and thus received more traffic. Because you KNOW that if it was in CC it would have blown up into a 21-page race discussion.

Not to further the issue... but my opinion.....
You can't lock up a child at home--- the kid needs to be out in public. That is how the child learn to socialize and learns how to act in public. Leaving a kid at home is selfish, lazy parenting. You have to set examples, lay down the rules and ohhhh not be lazy by enforcing them-- follow thru. If that means you have to get up and take the kid outside then do it. Kids will learn how to act when their parents take the responsibility to teach them.
Regarding breastfeeding--- if that is what you want to do good for you. It isn't too hard to drape a blanket over the tit. I really don't want to see (that especially goes for the trashy woman in walmart last summer who had the kid slung over one arm- boob hanging out while she undid the other side of the bra to switch sides-thus both boobs were hanging out--ewhh!) It is natural, but I don't want to watch. Just cover it up, that is all I ask. And regarding outside food at resturants-- come on, its a kid--- babyfood, snacks, etc is always acceptable when given to a child. I have NEVER ran into a place yet that would forbid me from giving my kids a box of raisins or whatever to keep the kid happy. That is part of reasonsible parenting--being prepared when the kid is hungry---again no one wants to hear your screaming kid.
And Maria--- roses to you for suggesting that comments be removed! That was very sisterly!!!
And Sandy--roses to you too for quoting!!!! You helped fulfill my bitchy/ nosey desires!!!
This has been a very entertaining thread!!!!

Further inappropriate place to breastfeed: when there's a television camera several feet away.
Just saw a clip on the Daily Show of some committee meeting, and the woman sitting behind the speaker has a baby in her lap, and whips out a little boobage.
Hope someone taped that so when the kid goes on their first date the parents can show it- did you know little Susie was on TV??? Here's the tape.

My mother had a friend who moved when her son was 6 and still breastfeeding. Recently, there was a notice in the church bulletin that the son was going off to college, and my mother said, "I wonder if Joy is going to have to go with him?"
kddani - I've seen so many videos of my friends' children being born, I've now had to say that I won't watch any more unless I can see the conception first. People! Having a video cam in your hands doesn't make you Stephen Speilberg!!!!
