She always tells everyone that I was her miracle baby
That really amazes me, when one twin survives and not the other! I'm just SO glad that you're a miracle!!

Great news!

Thank you so much for all of your prayers! My uncle is out of surgery! They removed a tumor from his brain that was about the size of a golf ball. They will now treat the brain with radiation to make sure they got it all. The second tumor on the lung will be treated with chemotherapy! Thank you so much- your prayers meant the world to me and my family!

Sorry for crashing your board ladies, but I couldn't help but to offer a prayer after reading the trials that are going on in everyone's life.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heavenly Father,
So many of your children are going through my trials and tribulations. Lord, send the Holy Spirit into each situation filling everyone with the strength to go on and with the JOY of the Lord to stay faithful. Lord, continue to comfort those that hurt. Remind them that all things will work out, for Your word says that "all things work together for good for those who love the Lord".
Father, I ask in the name of Jesus that you perform a miracle in each and every prayer request on this board. Perform it in such a way that only Your name will get all the glory.
In Jesus name I pray....Amen
Please include the Goddard family in your prayers.
We have received complete information on the funeral arrangements for David Goddard, husband of International President Kathryn Goddard.
Donations in memory of Mr. Goddard, may be sent to the Friona United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 301 E. 8th Street, Friona, TX 79035-2005.
Cards may be sent to Mrs. Goddard at P.O. Box 730, Friona, TX 79035.
this may sound dumb, but how does one go about giving a donation in his name? Just send in a check?
I usually send a check with a general note card, stating that it's in the memory of _______ and would the church be so kind as to send a notice of same to the family.
Obviously, I don't know the Goddard family, and I feel just awful about Mr. Goddard's passing. I'm just a little surprised that donations aren't being made to a fraternity, or even the ADPi Foundation - but please don't take that as criticism. I do know that there used to be a section in the Adelphean for donations made to the Hubbard Memorial Garden in whose memory. Maybe that's not an option anymore?
IDEA: Why don't we send donations to the ADPi Foundation in honor of the Goddard Family and David Goddard?
I would love to, but it goes against the request of the family. i'm torn.
let me explain further...I have worked for 3 years in the "death care industry." One more than on occassion, the families requested donations to go to a specific place or charity. When people would give other donations, they were appreciated, but not at the request of the family. I dont know. It just didn't go across well.
What is important to Mrs. Goddard, may not have been equally important to Mr. Goddard. He may have stated in his will exactly where the money was to go. And, by giving it to the church, they are able to collect it all and give one large donantion in his honor, per his last requests. Does that make sense?
i'm sure Mrs. Goddard would be honored either way. I'm just trying to consider his wishes.
We came into this problem when my dad died. Some people are uncomfortable giving a contribution to something that they don't believe in. So, I would suggest that each sister give to either the church mentioned or to the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation - whichever with she is more comfortable.
Should this be a different thread? Texas*princess, I don't have my mod's guide here at my mom's. If you think we should have a separate thread for the passing of Kathryn Goddard's husband (which I think would be proper), would you please split the threads? Thanks!!
I found out as I was getting home from our meeting tonight that 3 of my sisters were in a car accident on their way back from Montreal (we were wondering why they weren't at the meeting...). Two of my Beta Theta Pi boys went to pick them up and take them to the hospital (I still don't understand why they didn't go in an ambulance, but whatever...). From what I've heard so far, there aren't any obviously serious injuries, but who knows. They're still waiting to get checked out...
Prayers that they're ok, and a giant praise for Jersey and D for being so awesome as to drive 45 minutes to get them!
