I don't know why, but it seems like a lot of our GC AI's have had good luck with them

I'm not an Alpha Phi, so I cannot answer for them but, while there are several GCers who are Alumnae Initiates of Alpha Phi, IIRC their organization has "slowed down" on AI in the past year to better refine the process. I believe many organizations who are active in AI have taken this step.
