My parents just decided we're going out to eat, so I won't be able to be at the "party" the whole time....if you do wind up in a AIM GC chat for the show, can someone just invite me when I get back home? My screen name is PolarPi02
Hoping all of our Greek contestants do really well, and kinda bummed that I won't actually see the telecast until 11 EST but I can listen to all of your excitement and picture it for myself (I have a pretty active imagination )

Is anyone else watching this? I'd like to hear some other opinions...
Like, is there a touch of something missing this year?

My random observations:
* Why on earth are half of them either in law school or want to go to law school? I was getting annoyed. Law is the "trendy" thing to do now, but sheesh, it seemed a little disproportionate!
* Where can I get one of those guys who held the microphones for the contestants during the introductions? They were hot!
* The male color commentator and host keep on making very male-piggish kind of comments. They're just rubbing me the wrong way
* Am I the only one that would prefer to see more contestants do their talent instead of seeing them in casual clothes, etc?
* This crap with Trista and Ryan is annoying the heck out of me. What does it have to do with Miss America? Neither of them have great personalities
* To answer honeychile's question as to what's missing: entertainment value!
* My favorites (since my KD sister Miss TN did not make it ) : Miss Florida and Miss Oklahoma. Incidentally, both greeks.

I LOVE Miss Oklahoma and Miss Florida. I am not digging on Miss Maryland...who they seem to love or Miss Rhode Island. UGH, they just announced the five finalists, and let's just say we got robbed. Miss Oklahoma is by far the most gorgeous of them all. I guess I look at this as a beauty pageant, but I only thought a few of the semifinalists were "beautiful". But who the hell am I to talk!!

I have definitely noticed things are a little odd this year...
I'm proud of Miss Oklahoma for getting so far, though

My favorite of the Top 5 is Miss Hawaii! I think she's totally adorable not to mention a classic beauty.
I totally think that Oklahoma got shafted....she deserved to be in the top 5.
I'm sorry....but I can't stand California.....just something about her bothers me.... AGHHH why is she still in the competition???

I'm a firm believe that only Alicia Keyes should be allowed to sing "Fallin'"
Especially after the masacre of it on American Idol many of times. It just never sounds right when anyone else sings it.
On anotehr note, some contestants need to practice in front of a mirror and check out their funky facial expressions!

I was thinking Miss Virginia, Miss Oklahoma, Miss Maryland, Miss Florida, Miss Alabama, Miss Texas and Miss Georgia right from the start, so I'm feeling pretty good about my "capabilities"!
I admit that I missed the swimsuit (if they did it). I am, um, sick and my stomach lost its competition.
I hate, hate, hate the casual thing! blech.
Okay, what color hose do YOU wear with a black dress? I can't believe that none of them wore a sheer black hose - unless it wasn't permitted. And the shoes?!
So far, I like Miss Maryland's talent. I was rooting for the baton twirler, though!
From what I've seen thus far, I'm saying Miss Maryland, then Miss Florida, and Miss California for the top three.

Agree, first and second statements here!
For the visual, I'm in my bunny slippers & pink robe, and have my high school Miss Varieties tiara on...
