Thanks! Y'all have been wonderful!
I was kinda disappointed that the meeting got cancelled at the last minute (ok let me stop lying...REALLY disappointed). 
But I know stuff happens that can't be controlled and "it's ALL good in da 'hood". 
They have just been darling!
They have offered to make it up to me. That is very gracious and classy of them. 
Will I take them up on their wonderful offer?
Let me think about it.....

Ladies I will be computerless for a week while we wait for the DSL modem.  . We should be getting our modem by the 7th of August
Telus had a better deal on DSL
So I might sneak to Kinkos to use the computer
So if you don't hear from me from Sunday night till 7 August, you know why!
At least I don't have to wait for the cable TV...that will be here on Tuesday (we move on Monday)

Nothing really to report. I did have contact with one of my groups. They asked me out today. I wish I could go, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I have to work 
Couldn't get anyone to work for me  Oh well...I will have to take a raincheck
I just hope it is redeemed soon

Doh!!! How frustrating!! Ah well, as Tom pointed out, at least they're interested in you! The good news is that fall is coming up! That means that with recruitment, Thanksgiving and Christmas, there is sure to be lots of activities you can be invited to attend.

Awww I hope the shift swap thing works out next time (especially the one that owe big time) and / or that you get invites to Alum events at least 3 days in advance.

3 days in advance won't necessarily work either Our schedule is done a week in advance. If you are requesting time off it has to be 2 weeks in advance.
If something comes up, you bettah get someone to cover your shift...
ETA-only a few of us are front desk qualified so it is MUCH harder to find someone to cover for me!
