Poww and Shawn Poww emerge as music's "powwer" duo.
As artists formerly signed to Maverick Records, UNV aka The Poww Brothers have nothing new to prove. They were Madonna's first urban act on her label, and made R&B history scorching the quiet storm format with the success of "Something's Going On," a gold selling single. Their success saw them not only touring with Madonna, but working with the likes of David Foster, Brian McKnight, Soul Shock and Karlin.
It's no question that Faithful, their new CD under the UNV / Poww Brothers moniker, will duplicate, if not succeed their initial success. Men, hold onto your ladies and ladies, hold onto your hearts because the Poww Brothers are ready to make you believe in love all over again.
Now with the release of their highly anticipated album, "Faithful." The Poww Brothers are ready to make their own noise. And the first single, "Faithful" will have even the most bitter of hearts looking for true love. With a combination of handsome good looks, a memorable melody and thoughtful lyrics, The Poww Brothers prove that what's old is new again and that every generation can relate to passion, love, and trust.
The debut single, "Faithful" harkens the era of the old-fashioned love ballad. Sincere, soothing and satisfying, "Faithful" fills you up with feel good sentiments. A future classic in the making, "Faithful" is a vivid reminder of what good music and good singing is.
"As Detroit natives," cites J. Poww, who penned most of the project, and also doubles as the CEO of the label, "we understand the power and importance of the legacy we represent. We have lived and breathed the sweet sounds of R&B right under our own roof. Our mother, her sister and four brothers all sang. So our mission to resurrect the R&B music scene is a very serious one."
The mission is evidenced in tracks like "Blown Away" and "Can't Leave." From the arrangements to the lyrics to the delivery, the titles are emotive, poignant, and irresistible. Singles like "Say You Wanna Leave" reach deep within, while "Remember How Sweet" sears. "Faithful is not only our gift to the ladies, but to the fellas as well. We felt today's music was missing something. We have a history of ballads, but with Faithful, we mix it up and provide something for everyone, with the result being a range of all fill-good music.
