Okay so supposedly UF has a no frills rush but I disagree. Tridelt had tons of balloons everywhere today. When you walked in there was a big archway of balloons and columns of them too. KD had a couple of columns here and there but none like Tridelt. So my question is why? None of the other houses I attended had anything close to this. Are they the only two houses that do this. Also it seems that noone is dressing accordingly (cant say that I am either since I wore a Lilly dress today) but some girls had on dresses that were defintely borderline pref dresses. So that too makes me think we are starting to get frilly and I must say that I like it!!!! As it stands right now I like all of my houses and can honestly say that I could be happy in any of them. But yes there are two that I am praying to God for. So as of right now I am just praying that I do not get dropped completely out like the girl with green hair did.

I really hate to ask this, but could someone please tell me what a Lilly dress is? I have heard about them in a lot of rush threads. I always heard that fashions hit the west coast first, or maybe I am just totally clueless!!
Good Luck tomorrow UF56. I will be flying back to Arizona, but I will check GC right when I get back!!

I will be going back to DphiE, SK, Phi Mu, and Tri-Delta. I am very happy to being going back to Tri-Delta and very upset that I did not get asked back to DG. But all things happen for a reason. I really like DphiE here but I am Catholic and the majority of that sorority is Jewish and they favor Jewish traditions in everything from what I have been told. They also only really do stuff with Jewish houses from what I have been told too. IF someone could clear this up for me that would be great b/c I dont know how comfortable I would be if that is the way it is because I would want to be able to do stuff with other fraternities besides just the Jewish ones and would it be okay with them to have a non jewish person in their house. If they are okay with it then I am too but I am unsure as of now what the deal is.

DPhiE was founded as a non-sectarian sorority, even though their founders were, I believe, Jewish. Some DPhiE chapters are strongly Jewish, others are not. I think as you approach the preference round of Recruitment, you should really discuss your concerns with the sisters at DPhiE. This chapter is one of the larger ones on campus, I believe, and I don't think all the members are Jewish. I know that your religion would be respected in the chapter and maybe speaking to a non-Jewish member of the chapter would help you sort this out.

Also, on their web site pictures page there are pix of socials with groups that are decidely NOT historically Jewish (Sig Ep, Theta Chi, Phi Tau, Pike, Pi Kappa).

My husband's grandmother was a DPhiE at FSU and my mother-in-law was DPhiE at UF! :-)

One of my catholic sisters made it all the way through prefs at DPhiE, but she ranked them last because she didn't figure out until then that the vast majority of their house is Jewish, and she just wasn't comfortable with it. She felt very much in the minority there. I've got no idea who they do socials with.

I too must be living in the dark ages...where does one buy this type of dress - in a department store or in a boutique?
