In the mid-80s, I was five years old. Sorry, I've only been into hockey since I was thirteen, but that's still almost ten years.

So at about 94 the first year where they were really good

I read about it in the Toronto paper, about some fans accounts of their celebrations after they won.

What about Milbury whining the that refs favored the leafs? lol

Man oh man, sens won 3-0 again, 3 times a charm...poor fliers, i can hear them crying already, and they haven't left the ice yet.

damn if they don't score a goal all series....that's gotta be a record or some s&%*.

I've never seen a team dominate one other so much...as the old saying goes: na na na na, na na na na. wayyyheeeyehhhhh gooooodbyyeeeee

Are you kidding?

Gee... don't you just love it when the referees get to decide the game? That penalty shot (TOR vs NYI) was a penalty, but he wasn't even clearly broken away...

Agh .... well, now it's a best of 3 ....

And please let my Mats be okay ... (he got smacked on his left wrist in Game 1, had it taped Game 2, and skated the warnup last night but was scratched..... amazing TOR held on as long as it did with being short 1 forward...)

Gotta love those Habs & Sens, eh? I just love that OTT is wiping that schwarmy smile off of Bobby Clarke's face ....

(And yes, I love those Canucks too!)

Canucks president complains about officiating. Yeah woe is us the red wings aren't getting any calls, boohoo, check this out. The last paragraph is great

From espn.com

Burke said he was prepared to pay a fine for his comments, then added several specific points about the officiating.

"I want to point out to the officials that Todd Bertuzzi does not play for Detroit," Burke said of his power forward, who has been involved in several incidents in front of the Detroit net throughout the series. "It just looks like that because he is wearing two or three red sweaters all the time. I didn't know that tackling was an acceptable tactic; I didn t see it in the rulebook.

"Another point," he added, comparing Vancouver's Daniel Cloutier to Hasek, "our goaltender can be identified by the large pads and mask that he wears. He's also the goaltender on the ice that does not dive when he gets brushed."

Ex Greek, great article, thanks for making my morning.

Neither team is happy with the officiating in the Wings/Canucks series. Notice though that Burke wasn't complaining after game two when the Cancucks were leading the series. Yes, there have been plays where penalties should have been called on Detroit, AND vice a versa, but how many 5 on 3 opportunities has Vancouver had vs. Detroit...? That's what I thought...Cry on, Burke, cry on.

power plays

Yeah, in that third game when the Canucks had about five or six minutes of straight power plays in the second period and they only scored on the first one. That's their own fault that they didnt capitalize more, not the refs.

I think this goes under the "it should have never came to whining about officiating" for Detroit. No excuse why a game 5 had to be played tonight. The greatest show on ice should have wrapped this one up already.

And they showed re-plays of hasek diving two nights ago, doesn't hurt to let the refs know.

Had to comment

Sorry, but the comment about Canadians BURNING american flags is BULLSH*T. Total bull. I live in Toronto and have COUNTLESS friends who partied on Yonge Street that night. There was no flag burning. A hell of a lot of beer drinking maybe, but not flag burning.

And I think Americans placing a Canadian flag on the floor of the locker room as 'incentive' to win the game in the Olympics is hardly what I'd call good gamesmenship. I'd LOVE to see what would have happened if was the Canadians who had the American flag on the ground. Anyone remember the accidental upsidedown flag incident??? Maybe the 'rumours' that flags were burned her stemmed from the fact that Candians were peeved(right fully so) about the flag on the floor incident. But I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that we did not burn American flags.

Booing another country's national anthem is just plain rude. ESPECIALLY given the fact that just TWO days prior to the boofest there was that little 'accident' in Afganistan. We'd hope our American friends would be a bit nicer to us given the situation. Granted, I don't think any time is ever appropriate to be booing a nation. I don't think anything justifies that.

I'm sorry for the rant, but it is completely untrue that Candians burned U.S. flags after the gold medal game. Needed to set the records straight....
