Ditto. By that "logic," everyone who doesn't vote for the winner has thrown away his vote.

Well, taking that a step further, even if you vote for the winner in a state that swings the other way, your vote's wasted. Thanks, electoral college!

"Open condom style?" Yeah, I'm sick of hearing that, too.

Bwahahaha!!!
What, you mean as in the "Save the Tata's" t-shirt I saw 2 weeks ago? Or the "He Love's Me" Youtube vid I'm watching? Or the sign that said "Thank's for all you do, staff's" that I saw at work this morning (written by a patient)?

Black Friday.
And if I'm forced to be within a mile of any store that day, I may open a vein!

My biggest talking head gripe is Look. Look, if you start a sentence with Look, all you do is sound condescending and douchy.
Secondarily, if I hear "you didn't build that" one more time, I may open a vein myself. I've been REALLY good about keeping my opinions to myself (Midwestern uber-liberal working behind the orange curtain with an office full of rich white ladies), but I finally had to point out that that is NOT what President Obama said. There was no further bitching about the impending end of America for the rest of the day. So that's good.

I am pledging a fraternity and I was told to wear Polo Ralph Lauren, BrooksBrothers, Sperry’s Boat shoes, among other really expensive brands like Vineyard Vines. What is the true purpose behind wearing these labeled brands? Is it to appear wealthier and richer among others in society? Is it to portray British aristocratic-like fashion? Is it to make yourself known among other greeks, like gangs do by wearing specific colors (Crips with blue, Bloods with red)? I mean, if its about dressing conservative and classier can’t all of us do that by simply wearing polos, shirts, and solid tees? What’s the obsession with designer labels? Please answer respectfully, fraternity brothers are most welcome to answer, I don’t want to ask my brothers simply out of humiliation for not knowing. Sorority sisters can also answer too. Thanks!!!

Really, you are old enough to be in college and haven't figured out that certain brands are in style while others are not. Labels shouldn't mean anything, but in fashion they do. I doubt that every piece of clothing you wear needs to be designer. Pepper in a few of these brands amongst regular polos and solid tees. BTW, this is the wrong thread for this discussion.

"Real Women Have Curves"
Unless "curves" is some new word for "no Y chromosome," this phrase is just so wrong. And even if it did mean that, it would be debatable.
I'm so sick of skinny-bashing.
The phrase came into popularity to counteract the societal fixation with being ultra-thin (which I think is way more present in the media than in real life), but has led to more negativity than positivity. If a woman is very thin either by nature or, unfortunately, an eating disorder, telling her she is "not a real woman" is probably one of the most spiteful and damaging messages you could send.

I had never seen that ad..."four years is, in college time, like 150 years."
IT'S TOTALLY TRUE!

Word, son.
It generally bothers me that skinny bashing is completely socially acceptable.
Ex: It's cool to tell me to "eat a sandwich." If I were to tell someone who was overweight that they "need to put that sandwich down" or "eat a salad" it's OMGWTFBBQ11!!!!
See also: "Do you EVER eat?"
I'm tempted to answer that with "Only on Tuesdays" and see what people say.

I just think skinny bashing stems from jealousy more often and can some people don't even consider it rude. Because being thin is often portrayed as something to aspire people don't understand that calling someone out on it can be just as mean as calling someone fat. On the other hand, people commenting on an overweight person know full well they're being hurtful and rude and still do that on a regular basis. For most people it's still cool to call an overweight person fat to their face, or frown when they order an ice cream etc.
