I feel your pain, but you did the right thing. Even if you end up in Miami, you will have a new member class who will hopefully be more enthusiastic, and maybe learn from some mistakes of this formal recruitment. And your chapter is what you make of it!

That being said, I hope you end up in LA where you were happy all week!

Hoping that the lack of response here is due to an excellent bid day and not bad news! The suspense is terrible!

(I get caught up in so few of these and I'm hooked here!)

so today i got my bid from

Miami

and i am now a

SIGMA KAPPA

to be honest, I was a little upset when I first opened my bid. I felt so sure that I was going to get a bid from Los Angeles- I even had a dream about joining their chapter. During the Bid Day and the Pi Chi reveal were hard for me, because I honestly wanted to cry a few times. We hung out though, and I am feeling a little better about it right now. There's a date dash this week, so I may go and feel it out a little more. Thank you all for being so supportive!

I'm thrilled for you and Sigma Kappa, even if we weren't your first choice during recruitment! Plenty of women receive their second or third choice and go on to become happy, thriving members of their organizations. I know that my sisters must have seen something very special in you, and I hope that as you spend time with them, you'll see something special in them too! <3

What my sister said!

I'm really happy for you and hoping that your new member period helps you feel at home with the chapter no matter the feelings during recruitment!

Welcome to the mystic bond

Aww you should totally go to the Date Dash and whatever other activities you can. From personal experience, Formal Recruitment can be a hard time for some chapters to really shine, and I know you may be a bit dissapointed you didnt get your first choice, but the more you get to know your new sisters, the more you may find out that Sigma Kappa is perfect for you after all!

Congratulations on Sigma Kappa. Enjoy the experience.

Slight Hijack. Violet Pretty, your comment about the boo-boo bunnies cracked me up. When I went on the HC at a chapter over 5 years ago, now, We went on a much needed tour of the nooks and crannies in the house. In every closet from the guest suite to the HC closet and those in between, we found bags, bags and more bags of boo-boo bunnies. So much so that in opening one closet they literally fell out of the closet on top of us. The chapter was only 4 years old at the time but the collection of bunnies had grown totally out of control. We took the wash cloths apart, cleaned them and donated them to a homeless shelter.

Congratulations! You have joined a very strong sisterhood, and I loved your story.
